i understand hirigana, katakana and some simple kanji. beside that nothing…x2.

imo, chinese characters are super hard and complicated.... although japanese is hard too because there are over 5k of kanji that we have to memorize so... idk im suggesting maybe japanese first? cuz i heard that chinese also has like a different way or tone of saying two similar words/??
i’m not sure either. if i were me i would pick none lol. learning language is hard.
i heard chinese is harder than japanese.
and i also heard learning japanese would be less harder if you’re native chinese speaker but also reminder that kanji characters maybe same but pronunciation could be entirely different.
you have to have a lots patience to master these and years of hard work so if you’re half hearted like me it’s better not to start at all.
hi! i studied japanese first and mandarin next. i think mandarin gives you a solid foundation for kanji, but the difference between the languages is really huge and it’s really inevitable for you to get confused for me you could start either! but chinese characters could potentially give you an idea what the character in japanese is essentially if you study it next.

I studied Chinese first, then Japanese & Korean. After studying Chinese, learning kanji was so easy. If you know how to efficiently learn a language, 1 year is more than enough to be able to correctly speaking a language. Keep on trucking!(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
