if we see this like this he's bad but then ,he never killed anyone or hurted someone badly,if he did it was in order to protect himself,we saw this in last chap,he manipulate ppl sure but he does this as a way to protect himself and apparently for the heroine, we've only heard and judge his character about what he did in the book and what may happen but not really about something he really did.
i genuinely think the heroine did a change to his personnality he's just bad at showing feelings.
