The pacing is just weird, it’s hard to read, the connecting pages and the dialogue are weird and confusing so it’s taking away too much brain power for no reason
Why would the church decide to expel her if they know she has strong magic? Isn’t it much more logical to precisely keep her in school so that she learns how to control her magic properly? I think it's because while they see potential, her ways are unusual and she is basically a moron when it comes to maths. So it's like finding a smart child and wanting to teach them to do accounting but they can't do 2+2

If he really thinks he made a mistake by cheating on his partner and having an illegitimate child, he should fucking be an adult and own his mistakes! I’ve seen that some people have been defending the ML after reading spoilers but I personally don’t understand. It always seems to be the case with those second chance type stories where actually the ML totally had a reason for mistreating the FL, be it because of manipulation or brainwashing or threats or whatever. I get that they have a reason but even so, it doesn’t excuse treating the FL badly. Especially because the FL doesn’t know their intentions and their reasons. In this particular case, so people have been saying that the ML gave the child to the mistress to take care of because he knew the FL was unstable and didn’t want to put more pressure on her but that’s such a stupid decision. I mean, if he really loved her and cared about her mental health as some people have been claiming, shouldn’t he have considered the emotional impact it would have on the FL to be told in front of all the servants and his mistress that she’s not fit to care for her son and that his mistress should take care of him instead. That is an absurd thing to do if he doesn’t communicate anything to her. I also really hate the fact that those stories always seem to inadvertently put the onus on the FL to change and not be so weak or naive to deserve to live a happy life.
Uhm actually its not like that. The ML was kind of threatened (?) by the mc's father. When the mc was preggy he went to war at that time he really wanna go back but mc's father told him that if he go back,the father would kill both mc and el. And when el was born ,mc father threatened the duke he would kill el if he would not give it to the mistress he put there. That's what I read with the spoiler shared here. Or basically like that.
But the thing is the Duke had the power to say ~No ~ but he didn't he had the power to protect them also he didn't have to give their child to the side hoe but he did it anyway

Yes but I personally think that even though he may have had reasons for acting so cold to her, and even though he didn’t mean to hurt her, he still made her suffer and I just don’t think that’s the way you should treat someone you love even though he has reasons, especially so because the FL doesn’t know his intentions and why he’s acting the way he is. For instance, let’s say someone stabbed me because someone told them that if they didn’t stab me, they would make my life miserable, for me personally, I wouldn’t know about the reason behind the stabbing and the only thing left is that they stabbed me.
I agree with you. He’s a duke which means he has higher position and power than the mc father. And doesnt he have a right hand man or even to devise a plan to trick the mc father or secure the mc and el? Its like he’s pathetically weak. He shouldve done better. But atleast theres a character development of the og ml and ml reincarnate. Hes trying to make amends and protect them

Plus the ML contributed to her mental instability by acting as if the threats of her father were something HE couldn't ignore but something she should be able to ignore herself, while also making it clear that he actually understood why she avoided touching Elle, marking his actions as even MORE cruel.
Honestly, the mc and ml both have faults in their own way. Like the MC has heavy baggage and cant overcome her trauma

And he never knew that people around her was mistreating her (something like that) until the older El went to her mama's old room and reenact the past and he imprisoned the duke there watching the suffering of the MC over and over again. I'm not sure who return the past (the duke or el) but the duke has hos memory from the past.

If he realized that his own people were bullying her because he has memories of his past life he could have immediately approached them or her instead of waiting for her to approach them or him about it. Especially since he now knows for certain (which we knew all along) that this way of 'protecting' her was just an excuse to cover up his inadequacies. Also especially since *he's* the one who basically told her to do as he said not as he did with that sh!tty line about just ignoring what people were gossiping about. As soon as he discovered he couldn't manage to ignore her father's threats (and yes he would have been able to recognize this even in the first life) he should have realized she wouldn't be able to ignore them either and apologized for his crass line, the crass line that the FL grasped at like such a life saving straw that it was the origin for her attempts to get married to him and away from her sh!tty father.
Finally he looked like he was looking at a strange dog when she died in her last life. No emotions whatsoever. That should have been the time he regretted what he was doing instead.
