I think huan wen will always love yuan, but it doesn’t have to be in a romantic way. Yuan was pivotal in huan wen coming out and coming to terms with his sexuality. Even if yuan can’t return huan wens feelings, i strongly believe yuan will still let huan wen rely on him. I’m super attached to huan wen and it makes me so happy that he can finally be free to love without the expectations of a family and a wife. Thank you to Djun for this beautiful story, it has gotten me through so much.
I think he does love him in a romantic way but it's scared to come out as lgbt
