People be talking on how this is rape, (which it is) which makes the plot suck but isn't the rape part of plot in almost all yaoi's but people are fine with it, than how come with this story people hate against it. I think this was adorable and very enjoyable. People really do be thinking differently on the story even tho they start on rape, like how does that work, is it how it was presented, that makes people think of it differently.
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I kind of agree... I see it on a lot of other yaoi too nowadays
Esp on older manga as well as new manga for people who are reading those recently
I feel like it’s always gonna be there on some of them and a lot of People hate on it
Don’t get me wrong rape is always bad and always will be but as a common trope... idk I dunno what much it will do for people to complain on it ? Like a whole culture shift in Japan is needed to change on Yaoi for to stop but I don’t think it will
I think nowadays people are more educated and against these things and speak out on it but idk how much is gonna change In these fiction stories
And I do think people are biased with certain stories lol
Personally, i think its more consumer feedback than anything. Ive been reading this genre for over 10 years and rxpe was a common theme in a lot of them. It normalized that type of behaviour for me. But as i grew older i realized that that was not an okay thing to normalize so i decided to police the things i read. Meaning, i leave comments on things i read that have rxpe in it, i dont read it if it warns of rxpe... things like that. Comparatively, there are now less incidents of rxpe in yaoi and bl, (its still there, but less) and i think part of the reason for that is the consumer's preference not to read these type of themes. Less demand = less supply. The people voicing their grievances here are likely doing the same, shifting the demand from one theme to another.
I completed agree! I’ve been reading yaoi bl for more than six years and I think that when you leave well written comments like this one it’s helps people understand that your not being mean or trying to impose your opinions on people your just trying to be honest with what you’ve read and how you feel about it! I personally don’t really like yaoi with rape, even if it’s just a “bit”! But No! And I appreciate it when others leave comments that give you a heads up on it that way you can make a more inform decision weather or not you want to read that particular yaoi or bl. Anyway! Thanks for the heads up! (▰˘◡˘▰)
I agree on that but what else can the author do besides putting rape in there. Like what can replace it in order to keep the plot going. Not trying to rude in anyway but I'm trying to make you see in the position of what the author feels like because it will be tough on the author on how to introduce it. Like its kinda hard to explain. But yeah the feedback is nice but readers really aren't giving a solution to what they don't like, for example I don't like this but I would like if you replace this with something else and then explain your opinion. This is my opinion ( ̄□ ̄||)
I honestly whole heartedly agree! And that will be awesome if there are less
But the thing I’m on is that... I’m not really sure if it will stop or if it is less? Because I honestly don’t have the stats for this and I genuinely do not know the culture shift in Japan in terms of yaoi so if you can tell me how you know it that would be awesome!
I just honestly can’t confidently say it, I’m not living in Japan so idk? Because the largest consumer, assuming, is in Japan, so the authors content will be targeted to them first and foremost.
Hello. Im back! Okay, so youre looking for a workaround right? An event that furthers the plot but doesnt involve rxpe? Ive written a lot of stories in my time so i should be able to give you something thats at the very least passable.
U = Uke
S = Seme
No sex ver:
So after S shows his sailor uniform to U, U becomes very awkward around him. U wont look S in the eyes and its overall a bad experience for S. S thinks that U now hates him coz of the crossdressing thing, so to try to make things better, S decides to change out of the sailor uniform. S assumes that U wouldn't mind lending him a shirt so he starts stripping then and there. U watches and he doesnt even notice how mesmerized he is, until his eyes travel up S's body and he meets S's eyes. U quickly looks away and S hides a laugh. Then you can proceed to Chapter 2 where U discusses his ED with his friends.
With vanilla-ish sex ver:
So after U sees S in drag, hes very obviously flustered, concerned, and turned on. He doesn't understand why. U pushes S away and asks for a moment to recollect himself. S starts inching closer again and asks him if U knows whats going on... if he understands what the hell is going on. U obvi says no, and S asks if he wants to know. U is hesitant but he trusts S so he asks, "How?" S replies with, "Im going to do something, if you don't like it, tell me" then S kisses U's cheek and U feels like his heart is going to explode. S, as soon as he sees U flustered, asks if he can do more. U agrees and you proceed with the sex, chapter 2 follows with the ED.
I think i was able to further the plot enough so that it connects to the next chapter, and i was able to do it without rxpe. I really dont think Rxpe is ever necessary for a plot unless the story is about a rxpe survivor. But thats just me.
Also the problem in this story isnt the plot. The reason why people are hating on this is not the plot (not entirely, at least some people thought the plot was boring but not everyone thought that so you know). The reason why the readers are mad is because the story romanticizes rxpe. Like, the manga makes it seem that since "the seme is a cute guy and someone the Uke knows so its okay for rxpe to happen" which is never the case. Because while we all know this is a work of fiction and should only be for entertainment, Its important for people to know and distinguish which themes are necessary, and which ones are normalizing toxic behaviours and mindsets. (Read: rxpe culture)
I dont really have the stats either. This is just based on what ive read the past ten years. What ive noticed. Things like that. For example, Omegaverse has been increasing in both volume and popularity recently as evidenced by the titles now available on this site. The same cannot be said ten years ago when omegaverse was more common in fanfiction rather than manga.
ten or so years ago, it was unreasonable to try to look for manga that didnt have dubcon coz almost every single one had it in one form or the other. Now, i have the option to skip a manga because it has themes i dont like and i still would have other mangas to read. Rather than pure volume of "mangas with rxpe 10 years ago" vs "mangas with rxpe now"; i was more concerned with the ratio between "mangas with rxpe" and the "no-rxpe mangas" 10 years ago vs now. I apologize if that wasnt clear.
As with japanese attitude towards yaoi and bl, again, im afraid i cant answer that because i am neither japanese nor do i live there. The opinions i post on here are just that - Opinions. They are based on what i have observed and what i perceive to be correct. I am open to being corrected so long as the correction is logical and reasonable. Please tell me if theres anything else i can clarify and, again, i apologize if i caused any confusion.
Ahaaa so a seasoned veteran fujoshi! Lmao nice to meet one, as I am one as well!
Ahh ok I thought they were opinions I just wasn’t sure because it sounded like you were stating a fact. But no I agree lol there’s a shit ton of abo lately, and I think I agree in terms of now maybe there’s less of the “rape”
But in a way that’s more dubcon? A light version of it. But if the ratio of yaoi and non-rape is increasing then that would be good :)
You didnt make me uncomfortable. Im just glad you didnt resort to ad hominem or something. So Dont even worry about it. I apologize for hijacking your post as well! I truly didnt mean to. I just wanted to put my two cents in and it kinda spiralled out of control. Hope you find great mangas to read today! ;)
I'm a girl and I've been reading yaoi for just 1 year now...about this rape topics, I know that rape is bad as it is but its ok if it just boy to boy right? Because they cant have babies and can have raw sex anytime, right? But I do hope that they make stories priotizing the other countries readers preferences too and minimize the 'I'm angry with you so let's have sex so I can forgive you' scenes (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Holy shit, girl, no. Rxpe, no matter who the victim is, is NOT OKAY. The victim could be a girl, or boy and the rxpist could be a girl or boy. Even if the victim is a boy and the rxpist is a girl, its still rxpe. It doesnt matter. Its not about getting pregnant. Its about being treated like a human being instead of something to relieve someone's sexual frustration. Rxpe is wrong regardless of gender. Im not sure how else to explain it other than nobody has the right to force you or anybody else into something you dont want to do. ESPECIALLY IF ITS SEXUAL. The fact that you think this is okay is HIGHLY CONCERNING. Please message me if you need me to explain further. I am very willing to explain things to you, should you need it.
Oh is it really that bad? Well, I knows its really BAD and personally I hate boy x girl mangas or porn because of the rape-like scenes that they do and it gives me creeps. I dont really read yuri because it not exciting and its like two scissors banging each other. But I dont really knew any mangas or porn that a girl is raping a boy, how is that work? Is it like those girls in harem forcing the 'unwilling' boy to have sex???
well you should read about it then a bit, bc it is a culture to think boys can't be raped and it's really harming to boys bc they can be raped and they are raped too, but we don't see people talking about it, tbh I did start like that too, but after going into statements of guys who were raped, not just by men, but by woman, it made me understand their feelings better and why society once again is trash lmao
Please wait. Dont be hasty. While i agree that reading cases about the issue is the fastest way to teach anyone about topics like this, are we sure that potentially traumatizing her is the best way to get her to understand our point? This is a sensitive topic after all and i really dont think we want to fuck this up.
I honestly did not expect to do sex-ed on mangago, but ive done crazier things i guess. Okay, Im going to address several things with your comment, so please bear with me and tell me if there are things you need me to clarify. Heads up i wasnt sure what you understood about this issue so i just kinda went crazy.
1) i dont mean to sound demeaning or rude, and i sincerely apologize if i misunderstood your conversational cues but the way you said "Oh is it really that bad?" Makes me feel like you dont really understand the gravity of rxpe and i feel the need to make you understand. It kinda seems like, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter to you bc youve only ever seen it in works of fiction. Mind you, This is purely based off of the way you replied and is in no way a reflection of what i think of you as a person. Im sure youre a very lovely girl.
2) rxpe is not sex. Sex requires consent from both parties, or however many people are participating in intercourse. (For the sake of this conversation though, lets stick to the vanilla 2-person sex) When consent is missing from the act of intercourse, then that's rxpe. No matter the circumstance, every time a person wants to have sex with someone, they have to ask for consent. Consent can be taken just as easily as it is given. Meaning when a person says yes to having sex, but in the middle of doing it, they ask to stop, and their partner ignores them, then thats already rxpe. Dubious consent or dubcon is another issue. Consent can only be given by a person when they are in the right state of mind, meaning when the person giving consent has their judgement compromised (e.g. they are drunk, they are sleeping/unconscious, they are too tired, they are being threatened, theyre below the age of consent and their partner isnt.) they cannot give proper consent and their consent during these times do not count. These events are what we call dubcon. Yes, it also counts as rxpe.
3)when you said you dont read yuri bc it doesnt excite you, it made me feel relieved bc that told me that you know and are fully aware that this is all fiction and is made to entertain you. Still though, i need you to understand that although these are just stories, it does not mean that the themes present in the stories cannot happen in real life. If you already understand that, then that's great!
4) i want to explain to you how males can also be victims of sexual assault and not just the unwilling guy in a harem as per your example (although, yes. That is also rxpe). Like ive explained in #2, any sexual encounter not met with consent from all parties IS rxpe, meaning that when a guy says he doesn't wanna do it, but their partner coerces them, or forces them, then that's rxpe. Now, the most common argument for this is that guys dont get rxped bc they probably enjoyed it or that theyre lucky that they even got laid. But the fact of the matter is, they said no. And they were made to feel like what they wanted didnt matter as much as what their partners wanted. (This is a best case scenario, mind you, there are lots of cases where the guy is abused and even killed, its just not given as much importance) There are cases wherein the guy doesn't even realize that he was rxped bc of the mentality that guys don't get rxped. Its extremely toxic and damaging for guys regardless of age.
If you need/want to learn more about this issue, please let me know. I can find you references that can explain much better than i can. I actually wanna talk more about this issue but i dont want to bore you, so I'll leave this here. This is surface level understanding of the difference between sex and rxpe, as well as the issue of males being victims of sexual assault. I hope i was able to explain it well.
Thank you about this lesson LMAO. It just that at school when I, being a bl lover and read spicy scenes, I wonder too about certain things concerning about sex but I'm afraid that if I question the teacher inside the classroom or in private they will think that I'm a sex geek or a pervert(which is slightly true) for ex. One time we talk about sex of LGBTs and me, remembering that mangas that I read where they drink the cum and question my teacher, 'what will happen to the semens inside the tummy?' And they just laugh, saying,' are you crazy?', 'how did you think about that?' So yeah, now it leads to me asking y'all about this stuff. Sorry I'm just lost cause I cant really ask this to 'normal' people HAHAHAHA. I really know that rape is super bad it'a just when I hear the word rape in tv, I quickly go to my room and not listen to it because it makes me uncomfortable. So yeah thank you about the replies.
I feel like if ur teacher isnt open to answering questions like yours, which is brought by pure curiosity, then they might be more conservative than they let on, or they're not sure what the answer is. Regardless, if you try asking online, like here for example, somebody can probably answer u. Its definitely better than going on google and potentially scarring yourself with images that youre not supposed to see.
To answer ur question, nothing happens when u drink semen. Depending on a person's diet, cum can be very bitter and unpleasant but swallowing it wont have any side effects on the drinker aside from a weird after taste. If ur wondering if a girl can get pregnant from drinking it, the answer is no. Also fun fact: a ml of semen has anywhere between 50 million and 300 million sperms in it. And they can die at 37°C (which is slightly above the average temp of a human.
If u have any more questions, feel free to come find me. If I know the answer, Ill tell you. If i dont, ill ask someone who does and tell you what they tell me.
The plot just keeps going on and on and Kate is contradicting herself too much which just causes problems. I mean she has power to say NO, she is a CEO and a top lawyer (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸 She just needs help in general, I can't even explain in words how I feel of this comic and the character. I mean Nate deserves better, ╥﹏╥ cause Kate keeps on getting pushed around by other men. I mean how does she expect for everyone to expect her into the Shing family if she has a bad reputation. I believe she should not have fallen in love with Tang and she should have fell in love with Nate. He would be able to except her child as his child. SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SWAYED BY HER EMOTIONS
