What is this world building?? I know omegaverse is popular now, but you still need to explain how aspects of the society are arranged. They’ve known each other since they were children - it’s actively not plausible that the government, his family, their mutual friends who are not betas, etc would not have said anything. I have read a lot of shit able and have a level of suspended disbelief, but this set up actively pissed me off. It’s as if the author doesn’t gaf if the reader believes anything. EAT YOUR SLOP YOU PEASANTS!!!!
Also, how tf was THAT his reaction to essentially getting raped? They move past it in like a half a chapter. There was no build up to their relationship at all. Just poorly drawn sex scenes as if that is somethig anyone enjoys. And of course, pull in the edgy 2nd love interest to try and add some validity to the fact that this mf is lying about is secondary sex (see above, this makes no sense). It’s soooo lazy. AND THE REASONING BEHIND THIS WAS OVER SOMETHING HE SAID WHEN HE WAS LIKE SEVEN?????? WHAT??????? Not to mention that it makes no sense why an omega would want to fuck during their heat. GIVE SOME WORLD BUILDING IF YOURE NOT USING THE MOST POPULAR VERSION OF THE TROPES!!!!!!! The beta is fucking stupid who would get fucked by their hulking bestie and STILL assume he’s an omega??? Did NOT buy the “pretty face” excuse. If you want a good example of a somewhat plausible faking of secondary gender, please go read omega complex.
Ok, finally, the dialogue and pacing was just so ass. Like at least deliver on that if the plot sucks. And the art was pretty, but like lowk looked super bad at multiple points, esp the anatomy during the sex scenes ew. Also the fact that the artist had to draw a chunk vers of the male lead bc they couldn’t draw a cute normal vers of the character well lmfaooooo
Sorry if you liked this, I just feel betrayed by the tropes premise I usually love. This was the first coverall reaction I’ve had to a manhwa in a fat minute hhahaha

Idk why this manhwa gets hate for the way it handles the SA scenes. As someone who experiences a very similar, if not worse, situation, this manhwa is so comforting and sweet. Jungwoo is such a great boyfriend in how he handles the situation and honestly a really great example of how to handle survivors.
I think ppl are just expecting some fluffy bs (despite this being tagged yaoi) instead of a drama. But yeah, wanted to give my two cents as someone who has a grasp on how to handle these situations correctly!!

Tbh this manga made me so fucking frustrated. Especially during the parts discussing queerness. The voices of the straight characters were always overpowering and made the queer characters’ feelings seem irrational. (The part with Masumi and Mami esp). There’s always two sides to things, but calling people hypocritical because they’re scared of how society will react to their true selves??!? How?? There’s a lot of good discussion on personhood and depth worth that I liked. The gender themes were really blurry. Mami was so right on a lot of her assumptions, but literally made a ton of sexist and homophobic points that kinda went against her earlier complaints. It’s frustrating to me that gender is discussed in such a binary (probs bc I’m non-binary lol) but the framing of women in the story is so annoying. I also vehemently hate that Masumi ends up with a man (???), not bc I don’t think bisexual people exist, but bc it’s dumb to make a character’s entire arc revolve around their queerness only to make them end up in a heterosexual relationship. (Disclaimer: I am bisexual and there’s nothing necessarily wrong with the end but it angers me from a storytelling perspective) The ending is deffo rushed. TLDR I don’t think this is some kind of extraordinary story about queer people, nor even a realistic one as people like to say it is. It’s an eh read and probably frustrating for most queer ppl after the coming out scene. The things it does well are not what it’s known for.
THANK GOD I WAS HOPING HUIMINS VERS WOULD END UP WITH HIM YAYYYYYYY
