for people thinking Dan needed that "wake up call": No, he didn't. Dan has suffered enough, he's a shell of what he used to be, his eyes don't even shine anymore, he doesn't have a support system, he's tired, mourning, he gave up hope. he's really in an awful state and jekjek threw him to the floor violently. it's just so sad to see how jekjek is destroying the person that loved him so much
i think this chapter is meant to be jaekyung’s wake up call maybe? him immediately connecting him being an asshole to dan the night prior, dan’s earlier almost drowning (suicide attempt or just sleepwalking i’m not sure,) and the coast guard might make him connect his actions to dan’s current state

1. now he cares when Dan gets hurt;
2. he moved cities because he cared - or at least thinks Dan is different from the others;
3. he goes see Dan's grandma;
4. he's fond of kissing now
5. he's... less violent towards Dan
6. he stopped going to the trainning to what he thinks it's the most important thing of his entire life - fighting - to resolve things with Dan.
7. now he looks at Dan's gift.
8. he read his letter and kept thinking about it. I bet he still has it
9. he feels his house is too big now
10. he can't fuck anyone else
11. I doesn't even WANT to fuck anyone else
12. he expects Dan to kiss him. also, he steals kisses when he wants now - that's sweet
13. he literally can't think of anything else but Dan

I'm adding this to my personal list because even though it's short, the story is really sweet - about getting intimate with someone you feel attracted to. Learning how to feel good in bed is not a problem of having skills or not - but feeling good together. this is honestly adorable.
I keep imagining the next chapter. I think jekjek would still be affected - trembling even. And our baby Dan is going to tell him that it's ok, that he should go back to Seoul to his trainning, and thank him for what he's tried to do. That this relation isn't working for both of them - Dan would be gentle this way.
