Tbh I don't think she got sad over the emperor in that sense, rather she's jealous of him. I think it's the empress attention she wants.

Literally every chapter since Claude lost his memories has been depressing. So tired of seeing Athy suffer and Jeanette being stupidly oblivious.
I don't hate Jeanette but it is so frustrating seeing her like "why doesn't the princess accept me? I'm family...". Does she not realize her existence threatens Athy's right to the throne??
