Efforts Never Betray
Honestly I feel like he killed himself, this twisted surreal world where you want something so simple as the love of a parent that it spirals into something so grotesque you feel bad for your MC. Every relationship he encounters is so flimsy and though seems strong at times underneath it’s so fragile a feather could snap it in 2
A Guy Like You
Honestly the MC was so wishy washy and so fickle I hated him so much my boy deserves SO much better
Secret Alliance
It’s was a good read... but honestly with such a one dimensional character like Yujin and a guy like Yul I was really kind of Hoping Sian would just choose neither of them. Both of them gaslit and go Yul was manipulative and Yujin was just a stereotypical playboy character Who in no way shape or form actually cared about Sian’s safety But for some reason thought he still had the right to be with her “oh he constantly texted her to check up on her to make sure-” honestly when he actually decided to go along with the threats he showed his true colors. “ but the blackmail” The real chae Yuri was in a different country, and they would have definitely checked his body as well as the contact, plus we know his sister wouldn’t cover for him (honestly I wish I saw more of her) and would let him hang dry. I was hoping for a bad ending but instead I got a watered down fairytale ending that made me look at the characters like roaches rather than happy people. This is purely my opinion and you can disagree and defend or whatever but I feel like there were so many flaws with the relationships
The redeeming qualities of the comic is the way they go in depth about why characters act the way they act and expose their way of thinking, down to the feeling the smell the taste the reactions and expressions and the aura, the art was also very beautiful. I was happy that not everything was going to go well with our main character. I feel like this comic was more about the final break up between Sian and Yul rather than a romance between yujin and Sian, or Asian trying to get over her phobia. Their relationship was just so bland and so linear and very predictable that it ended up becoming a background plot point while Yul was in the foreground, yes he was an antagonist but we learned so much more about him and Sian that Yukon was more like an after thought to bring the plot along when things weren’t progressing. That’s my ted talk and critic, by all means if you like or love this comic give this a five star rating! I just won’t.
