I've never felt the need to tell anyone since yaoi is essentially gay porn. I've always been just content with enjoying it privately tho. And with homophobia running rampant where I live I'm especially not jumping to tell anyone. I'm sorry this happened to you OP. I'm pretty sure my parents know about it, even though perhaps they don't precisely know the term "yaoi". I leave yaoi around the house very often or I talk about them with my sister: I think they know that we read manga with homosexual love stories or that we ship people of the same sex. They aren't homophobic, but rather my mother is a big support......
My parents both know. Mom found out because I never hid the volumes bought and dad because of the convos between me and mom. He freaked out a little at first but dismissed it right away. Mom steals my volumes and complain because of the censorship or because "they always cut the important scenes" =V
