I don't think the ML is as evil as some of the other more popular tops. All he did was follow orders from the King n killed the "traitors" which turned out to be the uke's family. I agree with the fact that the man was following orders. And well in a way not completely at fault but is since he went through with it but if he had refused he would have probably been killed by order of that emperor or whatever for some reason like treason...So yeah he just followed orders, did his job and survived.
