I always forget how funny the starting of the story is. My mans SeungHOe initially became enraptured with our soft boi just cuz he drew porn lolololol. I ponder this quite often :p. (Obviously the other events of the story,,,are pretty dark as what you’d expect of a period-drama-esque BL and I’m not tryna undermine it but like-)

While I did enjoy this read, I have to say, I personally think the story would've been better off as a non-yaoi work. I think the element of the homoerotic relationship between Woojin and Taemin was rushed and not explored well enough. The lingering affects of neglect and emotional abuse should've been more prominent within the characters moreso than it was originally in the story. The initial sketches of the OC's suit the plot way better and are more understandable in terms of character motive. I mean badass female lead! But also, while the author-nim did an honorable job expanding upon the childhood of both main leads, I couldn't personally feel much of an attachment to either of them. Good effort, really, but I think 57 chapters was just not enough to flesh things out. Like I'm someone who gets emotionally attached quite easily as well. When I read the first 30 chapters of BJ Alex I was in tears, LITERAL. TEARS. I can't quite put my finger on what bothered me most about ATEOTR (abbreviated out of laziness) and so I'm sorry about these unstructured negative comments. The story WAS good. I just feel there are lacking qualities, beit the lack of chemistry (IMO), incomprehensible character choices, the absurdity of the concept, etc. I mean really, Woojin has no problem touching this OTHER dude who just so happens to have traits similar to his old best friend and crush (obv bc Taemin's 'soul' got put into Siwon's body but like-). Like did he never consider the possibility that maybe Siwon was just like that and his near-death trauma caused his personality to change? AND ALSO.
[EDIT] I just realized what put me off about this story as of writing this comment!
-Rape was just some insignificant factor of Siwon's life just so that he'd conveniently switch souls with Taemin and achieve his wish of death
-Jiwook (or whatever his name is) literally had no character development and was treated as your run-of-the-mill antagonist. It's not technically my job to care about fictional characters, it's up to the author-nim to make me want to. Jiwook was so under-developed that even with an established motive and several chapters detailing his scumy nature, I just could not begin to comprehend how he was supposed to have driven himself to absolute madness out of simple jealousy. It seems lazy to say that the 'pressure' he faced which wasn't even that surmountable, had caused him to go batshit where he'd make his brother get raped. It had to stem from some mistreatment from his parents and not just by a couple of highschoolers and adults from a party. Yeah, I'm sure there's many more cases of him being compared or put down but it just felt shallow. He was nothing but a spoiled little bitch with an inferiority complex and attention-whore syndrome, whining about how he doesn't get the attention that he thinks he deserves.
-suicide was just some insignificant factor of Siwon's existence so that he'd conveniently swap bodies with Taemin. Yes, the rape and suicide go hand-in-hand but are both glossed over because our 'strong new male lead "uke" is a badass' and solves all of Siwon's lingering problems. (I'm not saying this would be justifiable if they had reverse genders bc it's not) The parents weren't even mentioned more than 5 times in more than 10 frames within a standard 40-frame per. ch. story with 57 chapters. I'm bugged greatly when I see people writing stuff like "This was the best!" bc it was good but not the GOAT level. There were many flaws that nobody I see pointed out even tho they were apparent. anyway sorry for my shitty paragraph, have a nice day.
Now that Nakyum is being a bit less hesitant and more open towards Seunghoe, I think he’s gunna get more endearing and affectionate towards Seunghoe and that Seunghoe will initially be put off because Nakyum has already been “conquered” and that he’s easy/no longer interesting and retaliatory. Seunghoe will probably grow to like the affections of Nakyum and it thaws his wounded and (let’s be real) PSYCHOTIC heart as they face their trials and tribulations and grow closer. I assume we r gunna have some major driving development with Nakyum and his potential assassin dude (which btw, is totally gunna end up with brown hair boi) as he might critically injure Nakyum bringing out the once lost empathetic side of Seunghoe.
BUT IM NOT DONE YET
After these arcs or between them, we get THE BACKSTORY and we see who it was that broke Seunghoe’s heart (fun detail we probably all forgot or missed that was brought up early on as to vaguely explain why Seunghoe is a cranky ass manwhore) and his relationship dynamic with his dysfunctional family of power~
Then Seunghoe will finally give up having orgies and open relationships and become loyal to our one and only soft boi Nakyum~
This is all hypotheticals and personal speculations of mine being the life-less loser and avid story reader myself.
