Thinking back on it (haters say I don’t ponder), I feel like the disgust-evoking choices jk made were intentional from the author as a means to add like depth or something??? Like a “look guy[s], he make mistake, he not perfect, he interesting, not just hot guy ” and it’s kind of funny to me because you don’t have to make a character so blatantly shitty just to add to their ‘depth’ or sense of humanity (sobbing bc ig thats not common knowledge among these smut authors). I say ‘depth’ bc making them a ‘grapist hot man but like their father walked out at age 10 so he can commit terrorism and several war crimes is okay guys bc he’s damaged’ is not really what I’d consider good and proper characterization. I say this but I can still enjoy trashy smuts and stuff. And so I wonder, ponder, if you will, if the author drew this and went “yup, that's good” and went ahead with this chapter. The only thing I can think of is that it was 1.) supposed to make jk look flattering bc people would think him being an insecure little fucktard is hot af OR 2,) supposed to make him “damaged and interesting”

Either way, it’s all so bad it’s almost funny. Pretty boy was so right and justified leaving that penthouse with a look of disgust. Jk is such an icky icky guy in this chapter (if not overall)

I lowkey really like heesung so far. Those types of characters that are quick to love are usually very emotionally-attuned so it would be a nice change of pace to see a character treat kim dan like an actual human being. Here’s to hoping for nice interactions with the both of them and even possibly a strong case of second male lead syndrome! :D

I finished the novel like 2 hours ago after 2 days of straight reading and now I feel like shit reading not even the first chapter. I’m emotionally not equipped to even bring myself to read chapter 1. (Albeit, it’s probably because I’m on my period rn but it’s really too much for me and my poor little heart in my big ass fat ass body I swear to godddddddd)

I’m sensitive today after finishing a good novel and reading through some of the new chapters and looking at some of the out-of-pocket joking remarks towards uramichi me start swelling with tears after laughing and now I’m just sad (/TДT)/
Ik the running gag/entire point of the story is that they’re all supposedly unhappy but I just wish for them to have a light-hearted end bc I can’t tell you how awful felt reading about Uramichi’s (presumably) abusive dad and how it added so much context behind their Christmas college scene

I feel so bad for everyone that just started the series and caught up recently or still have lingering feelings of attachment towards Aki and Asami even now. I don’t mean to sound condescending when I say that, I just genuinely feel bad for you guys who are still sensitive to Yamane-sensei’s “fuck you, keep crying bitch.”-type thrashings of writing. I’m almost laughing at how funny I find the 20th anniversary thing too, lmao. Goddamn she don’t ever stop her grind thoe- she be pumpin out for 20 yrs-
