she's a better person!! she just wanted to ensure that the proposal was elegant enough so she wouldn't be accused of seducing the prince like the main antagonist did, which would result in both her and the prince being targeted. although it made me uncomfortable as well, it was ultimately necessary for them to be truly happy.
