peak slow-burn yuri + horror
it's been a while since ive read historical drama manhuas... but damn has the quality been improving all these years? the pacing and storytelling is pretty shit, like most manhuas, but the plot points and developments and character depth are solid. and, will this even be an actual reverse harem? considering the mc ran away from a wedding with five grooms, she probably hates the idea
i have read stories where the mc ended up with their past bullies, but i had no problems with said stories bc the author never tried to write off their relationship as wholesome and "just a misunderstanding". they were toxic, and the characters were twisted. in this case, the author really tried to write off the bullying as something insignificant that never really affected mc's psyche and trust issues (at least to a prominent degree). and the redemption arc was basically an indirect apology and not even a sad backstory. "they were in love with each other all along"? FUCK THAT. if you're not even gonna make a decent attempt at a story with bullying elements, don't even try.
so good but i wish they would stop mentioning how hot saiki is, especially when this art style doesn't exactly convey the full degree of his hot-ness. just those instances of people reacting to his looks are good enough, no need to tell us so much.

a woman abused her entire life entices a woman in love with her to kill her husband. they run away together, but this period of escape is wrought with emotional anguish, regret, resentment, and turmoil of other emotions. it's very gritty, depressing, yet dramatic, with a toxic hate-love dynamic between very flawed individuals. the art style may be unappealing at first, but it successfully delivers abject emotional and raw scenes.
honestly it was annoying as hell when mc kept blushing with the glasses guy when he wasnt cleared of suspicion yet, but is so calculating for everyone else. which implies that he could be endgame. he and childhood friend are my top two picks for fox and wolf, but if glasses really is innocent, then, despite it being a stretch, i think mc's best friend the orange hair girl could be fox.
honestly lily of the valley was better, but this one could've been better if the writing/pacing was better. but overall, okay. i only came here for art, and it delivered.
ill be lying if i said i didnt wish this type of ending for every dumbass fl, like i will legit be mad if the toxic love interest actually changes and they get a happy ending.

school delinquets, except it doesnt have academia-related elements (which is a good writing choice) and it's entirely different territory/gang-related fights. mc's a socially awkward tsundere who enters the school full of delinquents to brawl his way to the top position, but quickly finds out just why he cant. chara writing is exceptional and action choreography is drawn very well. quite an heartwaming story with mc growing into a proper leader and forming deep bonds with people.
are there other stories with this type of mc- a gag character with a bunch of loser tendencies but also very wholesome and caring
