I see a couple people complaining about the uke losing weight... but I can tell you from experience when you go through puberty and teenagehood very heavy, it is not uncommon to lose weight in your mid 20s. It’s pretty common. More so when you reach your thirties. I don’t have an issue with the weight loss, it’s pretty realistic.
My issue is the consistent infantilization of the main character and the “jovial” fat person characterization. Butttttt whatever, it’s manga and it’s better than most.

Yeah ditto ^ I've always been heavier with a crap metabolism. I'm of the opinion that the story would've been 10/10 had they ended the manga with the mc being comfortable with his weight. It's disappointing that this fell into all the standard tropes within the last few pages lmao. I think so far I've only found 1 yaoi manga that is a romance and actually has sex scenes with a fat character Maybe somedayyyy there will be more~ This couple is still adorable though.
I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I think it’s important that uenoyama finishes the song... because there is no way that Mafuyu's going to suddenly one day be 100% over Yuki. It won’t ever happen, they shared to much history and to much time but has time goes on his love has changed... it’s even shown here, and those changes will continue to progress. Mafuyu even wanted to tell Yuki he found someone new to love... the idea that Mafuyu doesn’t “love” Uenoyama isn’t one that has crossed my mind. I just believe that it’s easier to say that Mafuyu’s live is untrustworthy or lesser than Uenoyama’s because of Mafuyu’s past.
I think its worth mentioning that Uenoyama doesn’t really know to much about dating or love. He has been described as aloof and removed from people. This is the first time he’s been interested in anyone. Finishing Yuki’s song is perfect for him... it gives him the chance to explore those feelings without being the one to experience them. It will also bring him closer to understanding what Mafuyu is currently going through because to think that Mafuyu is alright... is a huge over statement. That boys got some serious PTSD.
Mafuyu can’t be the same Mafuyu he was for Yuki and he shouldn’t be. He’s growing, changing and healing.
