The raws have gone pay per chapter so anyone who wants to read this is going have to get an account and god help you understand chinese to understand how to pay to see the raws. I am likely to drop this since I got other free comics to read. Just wanted to leave a comment so people who like this manhwa know why they are likely to never see an update here again. Bye.

Page 2 - The mom says "Didnt (he) buy back a mom?" while raising her hand giving a joking smile.
MJ says "Mom?" "You got discharged?"

Page 3 - MJ says "This is just too great!" "You've finally come back!" hugging the mom.
MJ says "Bro! You really are too much, not even telling me that you were fetching mom, why didnt you tell me sooner?"
MQ says "Isn't this buying you the pleasant surprise that you wanted?"
The mom says "MJ ah, let us go inside then chit chat, alright."
MJ says "Mom! Actually, I havent told you yet."

MJ continues saying "We are moving next week, these past few days we have been sorting things out." "Dad allowed us to withhold that information from you, fearing that you might be worried"
The mom says ".... ok, ok" (actully sounds like ah ah - like an acknowledgement like "yes yes i get it")
"At least I got MQ to tell me the family's state of affairs, so that I could brace myself for this shocking news"
"(I) actually let these grown up teens to live under this kind of living conditions..."
The mom trembles at the sight of how unlivable this environment is.

Page 5 -
The mom then looks around the room then she asks
"How come I dont see Ming Lan around?"
MJ says "(She) Probably went to the kitchen?"
MJ says "Yi? You didnt go and cook porridge again did you?"

Page 6 -
The mom says "Ming Lan!"
"Mother (referring to herself) I..... have come back now."

Page 7 -
ML's only response is "Hello."
ML quietly goes over to where MJ is.
The mom awkwardly says "Ah, ML ah...."
MJ says "ML, I've got great news!"

Page 8 -
MJ says "Mom has already completely recovered!"
"Today, big bro went to go fetch her out of the hospital, so that we can all be happy together!"
MQ wanted to correct the misunderstanding MJ is having and says "You got it wrong MJ, mom is actually not...."
The mom taps his shoulder to get him to not explain the actual situation.

Page 9 -
The mom basically lies and says with a smile "MJ what you said was correct, mom's illness has already been cured."
"Now, it's completely recovered."

Page 10 -
The mom giggles and say "So that's why I am out of the hospital, haha"
MQ realises that the mom is lying and says "Mom?!" in his mind.
MQ thinks "Why are you lying?"
MJ says "Haha, I knew it! Back when I visted mom was in the hospital, mom was in high spirits!"
The mom says "...That's right"
MJ says "Is it that even dad doesnt know either?"
The mom says "When he comes back I will tell him, you guys must keep it a secret."
MJ says "Sure ah!"

"Like this we can move house together to our new home"
"That's right"
(It is unclear who is saying this, probably MJ and the mom respectively)
ML say "....drink porridge"
"Let's drink porridge" (I guess in chinese, they think porridge is a liquid and not a solid food)

ML then says "Congratulations on your discharge."

Page 13 -
The mom starts to cry "Nm!" (It means a positive response like yes)
MJ says "Mom, you need to be careful, ML will add yogurt to her porridge."

Page 14 -
The mom says "Never thought that ML can even cook porridge."
MQ thinks to himself "Mom.... could it be..."

Page 15 -
The mom "pffft!" (spits out ML's porridge)
"Woah! Too hot! Too hot!"
MJ says "Mom, it's not actually hot, it taste bad is it?"

Page 16 -
The mom says "Not at all, it really tastes good."
MJ says "Cannot be! I must try it!"
MQ sees this moving scene and thinks "Mom, could it be that you have no intention of returning to the hospital to receive treatment?"

Chapter title : Orphan/Orphaned


1 pg - The mom gets up and pull the father by the collar and says
"If you DARE send those children back to the orphanage for a 2nd time - "
"- you would have to first step over my dead body to do it!"

2pg - the scene changes to MQ who is standing outside the room while their parents are inside.
The father exits the room.
MQ says "Dad..." and the father replies "I will have you immediately returnk to Ouxili! Don't come back if there is no issues!"
The father stomps off angrily and says "Just seeing makes me irritated!"
I dont know who or what that statement is directed at.
It might be referring to how the father gets irritated seeing MQ's face or maybe referring to seeing the situation that the mom is in.

3pg - MQ looking at his father's back makes him remember a memory of that incident the mom wanted the father (Cheng Xi) to apologize for.
I think by now, reader would have guessed what the father did.

4pg - the memory starts with little MQ and little MJ, being held by the hand by the father. When I say little I am saying probably 4-6 years old. Little MQ asks "Dad,where are we going?"
Then the shit father says "Obviously, to send you home, of course."

5pg - Little MQ and little MJ are sleeping in the back of a car that the father is driving. MQ sleepily asks "....Dad. Are we not home yet?"
MQ then looks out the window and says ".... hm? this is not the road back home..." and realises that they are not going to the home as MQ had thought. He was right.

6pg - the shit father says "What nonsense are you saying?"
MQ is having a "!" relization expression.
The shit father says "YOUR home is this direction."
They arrive in front of a building that when directly translated to english is "Sunny Welfare Centre"

7pg - 3 strangers, probably the caretakers in this "welfare centre" appear outside the building.
One of the stranger a short-haired woman says "Mr Shang, you were so quick to send them back."
"Honestly, this is against the rules."
"After all, they did not come from our welfare centre (orphanage), you have raised them for 3 years already."
As she says the 3rd statement, the father takes out his wallet and hands her a credit card.


8pg -
MQ is hearing all of this and understands btw.
The shit father replies "You will not miss a single cent of what I owe."
"If your (this place) still refuses to take them, I still got other places for them to go."

The woman replies "Looking at what you are saying, these children were originally orphaned to begin with."
The shit father replies "Well said, haha."
(In the manga, the statement "Well said, haha" is not accurately showing who is saying it but in this context, it is either the shit father or the woman who received the credit card.)

Little MJ is holding his brother's arm and says
"Bro...."
"Dad and that auntie are talking about what? I dont understand."

Little MQ (the black haired child), understanding the situation, runs to the father and shouts "Dad!"

9pg -
Little MQ says "Let's go back home!" "Let's not stay here anymore!"
Poor little children.
One of the strangers, another woman other than the auntie approaches little MJ and grabs his hand saying
"Looking at how cold your little hands are, let's enter the building."

Little MQ pulls the arms of the shit father, saying
"Mother and little sis are still at home waiting for us!"
"DAD!"

10pg -
The shit father pushes little MQ away and little MQ falls backwards.

The scene changes back to the present where there is a clipboard that drops with a "PA!" sound

11pg -
It was a blond haired nurse (the one seen when ML was hospitalized) that dropped it and she says
"Ah, (I) accidentally slipped my hand." as she picks her clipboard up.
She notices that MQ picks the dropped pen up for her
and says "Sister, your pen dropped."

12pg -
MQ kindly returns the pen to her and she says
"Ah, thank you."
She seems to have a sweat drop on her face, which says that she is worried about what she saw about him.

MQ enters the room while that nurse talks with another nurse.
The blue haried nurse says
"That child is well brought up. When he helped others pick the pen up, he returned it with the head of the pen (the pointy end) directed in his direction ."
The blond haired nurses says "..."

She thinks to herself "I must be seeing things."
"Obviously a smile from such a gentle child."

13pg -
the blond woman's thought bubble continues saying
"How is it possible that he showed such a scary expression when he tilted his head downwards..."

The scene changes to MQ inside the hospital room of his mom's.
MQ says "Mom...."
The mom says "MQ ah. I have sorted everything out"
"Give me the discharge papers so that I can sign"
As he hands over the papers to her, he says
"Mom, you really decided to leave the hospital in your condition?"
"Ah." ("Ah" means Okay when translated so assume that it means "Yes")

The mom says
"The hospital's food is so nasty I could die, I am going back a few days to take a break!"
"I and the head doctor have already communicated that as and when I need treatment again, I will come back to the hospital."

14pg -
MQ remembers what the head doctor told him
"Your mother has countlessly suggested that she wants out of the hospital."
"Currently first temporarily let her return to treatment, settle down her emotions first."
MQ says "..."

The mom as she signs the papers says "...MQ ah, were you outside earlier just now?"

She hands over the signed paper to him, now with both holding the paper.
"....when I and your dad were talking, did you hear it all?"
MQ says "Yep/Ah" (just assume it means "yes")


She remarks
"...this person's (referring to the shit father Cheng Xi) talk is always unpleasant to hear!"
"But he has changed a lot over these years"
"Especially since that year's incide- "

15pg -
She suddenly remembers an old memory of back during that time when the shit father returned them to the orphanage without her knowledge.
She had said "Where's MQ and MJ?"
the shit father "Sent back to the welfare centre."
She was angry with him and shouted back at him saying
"How can do you such a cruel thing?!"

The scene returns to the present and she says
".... Cheng Xi (shit father) on a moment of weakness made you two experience such a scary situation."
"However, eventually he did go back to find you guys."
"But (I or We) didnt expect that you and Ming Jing had been adopted by someone else already."

MQ kinda knows what she was going to say and says
"Mom."

16pg -
MQ says
"This paper is about to tear."
"Your pinch is too tight."
She realizes.

She quickly lets the paper go completely and says
"Ah! I completely forgot."

She says ".... clearly I shouldnt be saying all of these things in front of you in the first place."
"But thinking about your dad's look/expression, I couldnt hold back anymore..."

MQ then says
"Don't worry, mom."

17pg -
MQ says "I have more or less forgotten all about that year's incident."
"If I recall correctly, it was 1/2 a year's time wasnt it?"
"Dad then came to find me and MJ back."

The mom then said
"It was A YEAR!"
"That time when your dad brought you all back that time, you both lost weight/became thin!"

MQ says "Ah? So it was a year's time?"

18pg -
MQ then says "Looks like I really dont remember clearly."
The mom says "..."

The mom then says
"....ah, also, that time you 2 were still too small (to remember)"
The mom thinks to herself "Looks like I was over-thinking/worrying about it."

The mom continues to think inside her head

MQ says "Mom, I will go downstairs to deliver the signed discharge papers, you change your clothes then we can leave already."
The mom says "Ah?! Sure!"

The mom sits on the bed and continues to think to herself
"MQ,MJ, ML..... this time - "

"in my life's final moments, I will definitely all my strength to protect you all!"

MQ is now outside the hospital and says
"Ah...."
"How could I possibly forget that incident...."

Immediately After chapter 36, is lemon theatre 03. I am going to skip it because it is not important to the main plot.
Below is the spoilers for Chapter 37 ONLY
As grateful as I am to 3829's work, she sometimes misses out a bit of the original Chinese translation's meaning. My translation is a slightly more accurate at times but I am not the one making it into a nicely edited chapter like she is.
Bracketed words () are added by myself because the sentence structure of Chinese is different so it doesn't sound grammatically correct when directly translated, so I add them myself.

1pg - The father says "Those 2 children, MQ and MJ, I have never once considered them as my children.
2pg - The mom stays silent forawhile. She says "That time was indeed for my sake." then she says "I really regret adopting MQ and MJ that time."
3pg - She says "If I didnt adopt them that time, then they wouldnt have had to experience something so scary."
"Cheng Xi (referring to the father), until when are you going to apologize to them for what you did?"
the father replies "why are you bringing up this matter again?"
"That time, they were still young, they wouldnt be able to remember it clearly!"
"Look at MJ! Once he has a fever, he would forget everything, isn't it?"
4pg - the mom replies "That's because MJ is the one who got deeply hurt by that incident."
"One day.... that child will surely remember the intentionally suppressed memory."


The scene changes to ML and MJ at home preparing for moving out of the house.
5pg - ML enters the room as MJ is deep in thought and says "The takeout food has arrived." MJ says "STOP!Give me 5 minutes."

9pg - MJ says "The driver managed to run away, till now he/she hasnt been caught yet."
ML says nothing.
MJ says "However, there is still something that doesnt feel right."
"Seeing these photos gives me a certain feeling...."

10 pg - MJ says "I have a very strong impression of the birth of ML. But seeing those photos of her before the car accident, I dont have the slightest impression/recollection of them at all. As if I never experienced her being around before."
"Not to mention, it is strange that I cannot find a single photo of me and MQ in this after flipping through this entire photo album. Not even a collage or a shadow."

11 pg - ML says "Your photo album is here." MJ says "Eh?! Where did you find it?"
ML says "That side, the whole stack is your photos."
MJ says "....oh okay, so all along there was THAT much, huh...."
MJ "I remember this! This was when the whole family celebrated my 5th birthday."
"Ah, that album that you are holding has the photos of when we moved to this new house (back then)"

12 pg - MJ says ...." "The photos that I am talking about to are not these ones."
"I just find it strange why are there no photos of when me and brother MQ were born."
"Generally like monthly photos, every family would have a few right?"
"Like for ML, there are many...."

13 pg - "But why all of these albums - "
"-dont have any of me and my older brother's birth photos? "

14 pg - The scene changes to the hospital where the father and Nancy (the mom) are talking.
"Even if MJ does remember all of what happened, so what?"
"It is own life that has so many unfortunate things happen to him. He still thinks himself as if he is our blood related son."
"If we didnt adopt him back then, his birth defected body would surely have died in the hospital a long time ago."
The mom says "... I knew that you would do this kind of thing."

15 pg - The mom gets up and pull the father by the collar and says

SPOILER WARNING FOR CHAPTER 36 ONLY























This scene is in the mom's hospital room where she is packing her stuff up ready to leave.
The father came in making an uproar about why she is asking to leave. She says that there is no point in continuing treatment. He then says what nonsense she is saying and says how hard he works to earn money for her to get better. She then says that she feels the fact that she can live up to this point is already a miracle.

MQ enters and said "Mom, the discharge papers need your signature."
He then realises MQ entered the room [ MQ (the one from Ouxili) took an applied day of excuse to come back to visit the family, upon the request of the sick mom.
The mom personally requested to be discharged from the hospital.] is there and grabs him by the collar asking him how dare he come back to visit the family when just a day of school fees at Ouxili is very very expensive. Then the mom shouts that it is due to her request that MQ came back. She then asks MQ to leave the room and stand outside because she needs a word with the father. He then says that the discharge procedures are not satisfied yet so she should be reassured and just continue treating her illness. Then she asks who will then take care of MJ and ML. He then says I thought it was something big so it turned out to be because you are worrying about the children. He then lies to her that they are taken care of by their housemaid and that they sleep and eat well and that he even gives them 4000 dollars of spending allowance a month. Her hands trembles as she hears this lie. She then speaks about her observations that they always visit her in their school uniforms and that ML came one time with a sweet stain on her back and how she notices that MJ is getting fatter probably because he is eating takeouts all the time. She shouts that if there was someone to properly take care of them, it wouldn't be like this. She said that MQ hadnt received any mail for over a month. She said that both her and MQ feel something is wrong so thats why she asked MQ to take an applied day's off. She asks her husband firectly "What on earth has happened?" She said the MQ was told everything by MJ about how both the maid and the chauffeur have been dismissed. She gets a headache and her husband comes to hold her shoulders to help her stay balanced and then she with tears in her eyes asks if her illness is burdening the family and if thats the case she no longer wants to have treatment and that she wants to take care of her children. He then says "Your children?", "I have never considered any of them as my children."



Jump cut to ML and MJ (the blond haired one) were busy packing the house up when they come across photo albums of the real ML that died as a child years ago. MJ comments that ML was very cute on impulse, then realising how insensitive he is for talking about the old ML and calling the old ML "cute". The finer details are not important so I am just going to jump cut back to the scene at the hospital.

He says he particularly dislikes Ming Lan and calls her a wild child. She then says how can he say that and then he said that adopting her was also for his wife's sake. He reveals that back then when they adopted MQ and MJ was also for her sake. So basically, all 3 of them ML, MQ and MJ are all adopted.

Pg 10 Ming Lan said "You are really silly"
"Silly" in chinese also suggests that one has too much time on their hands and has nothing else better to do.

Pg 11 "She called me....silly"

Pg 27 Ming Qing (the older brother) thought bubble "He can be pretty silly at times"

Tang Yuan said "This girl.... is really hard to dislike".

Tang Yuan was under the impression at the time that Ming Jing hated Ming Lan so Tang Yuan was kinda forcing herself to dislike Ming Lan and get Ming Lan outta the way (that is also why she help Ming Lan try to escape to K city).

If you read the actual raws, the meaning of page 45 for chapter 33 is much more moving than the English translation.

"Ming Lan, take care of Ming Jing in my stead."
"And also-"
"Remember always to be happy." (phrase suggests "Good luck on your chase after your happiness")
