well at least the friend cares about what haruyashi does. shows that he looks out for haruyoshi and genuinely cares about him.
even though it intervines with the plot, his friend is clearly a good person that cares about his friend.
cares about his friend? yes. but caring about his friend does not mean he can be an asshole to other people unfortunately.
