I understand what you're saying but I feel like you're forgetting both of them agree to do BDSM play, like literally go back a few chapters, ash set here and told him what he was going to do,, and Lyle said okay to it , he's giving his consent to do as he please
That’s part of the coercive language I’m talking about, in the moment that could’ve easily been interpreted as a joke between lovers. And promises don’t overrule consent or automatically make someone comfortable with things they don’t like. Lyle has issues communicating and which Ash knows, he’s also learned already that Lyle will put up with things he doesn’t enjoy for the people he loves because of his upbringing.
Never said that he was forced.
Lyle is awkward, has low communication skills and a people pleasure when it comes to personal stuff, and ash knows it and took advantage of it, which was very unexpected from a character like ash. This is what rubbed me the wrong way.
