I don't know if this is accurate but this is what I remembered
Curtis hates his children because he has reasons to hate his children.... When Qingqing is pregnant by Parker (3 Cubs) Curtis didn't treat the Cubs as he treat his children.... One scene that he really is happy seeing 3 Cubs having a mother-sons moment and he really smiled in that part..... Curtis will have a change of heart when Qingqing confess she loves him.
