I know I’m stating the obvious but to me this will be the REAL reason for why he became the person he is & why his actions are as they are in the present. On another note we see how & why he hates Moon-sung, this could be where it all started.

We don’t know much about Taehoons past & thinking he was innocent in the past is just dumb. And speaking currently just because Hobin beat him doesn’t mean Taehoon’s gonna change, it doesn’t exactly fit his current image. If you guys can recall he’s known to pick fights & his method is hitting those around him (ex. beating up Jiksae not Hobin) to provoke the main person he’s going to fight. What’s not clicking???
we can already see how different Taehoon is acting. He’s picking less fights with ppl and is actually caring abt his friends and defending them. Obviously he isn’t perfect and he’s not gonna change over night but he’s still changing. And i doubt he’s gonna bully weak ppl again bc then hoobin would stop being friends with him
