on the other hand i can see why the ppl adapting the novel wouldn’t want to drag that out for too long. maybe it’s just me but the physical and emotional violence would be a complete tonal shift from the rest of the story. yeah there’s been a lot of emotional torment and some offscreen violence but having to bring that to the forefront for this arc wouldve maybe made the story a biiiit too dark. i do think they couldve found a nice middle ground but well. what can ya do.

if you have the money consider going through l3zh!n (cant type it on here apparently) to support the author! but jujucat is p much in sync with them, maybe a couple hours delayed at most.
you got me fucked up if you think “mind control” can somehow wipe away all of this. “mind control” as a plot device is fun, sometimes useful, but there’s a certain level to it. when it’s gone on for this long, when we see what lengths the “mind controlled” person goes to to carry out the orders they were given… mind control or not, the person is a major asshole. zero excuses for this bullshit. especially because he’s been like this since they were kids, there’s no coming back from that. at some point mind control or no, your actions, and by proxy, you, becoming irredeemable. i doubt the author will go that angle but i just need to vent in the slim chance it does.
derrick you will never know happiness. i hope you and yvonne suffer for the rest of your days. i hope all of penelope’s suffering is multiplied by 100 and delivered to you all at once.
I agree, but from what we've seen of Penelope she doesn't seem as forgiving as the Eckharts are hoping. Even if the relationship has improved the moment things go wrong Penelope is quick to drop ties again and berate herself for ever even having hope.

not surprised abt derrick, brainwashed or not hes terrible. if he even tries to alleviate his guilt by talking to penelope when she wakes up (right? spoilers said she will) i will blow a gasket. i want him to stew in it for the rest of his life. he doesnt get to ever ever EVER. alleviate his guilt. he should die knowing he fucked everything up, carry that feeling to his grave. the least he deserves.

one thing i find interesting is that everyone alr saw penelope drink out of her goblet and not die the first time. so for her to boldly be like “our goblets are switched” and then drink and die… like surely the guests and the family aren’t dumb. i don’t remember exactly how dumb everyone is, but surely 2+2 = clearly a ploy by yvonne to frame penelope again. anywho. pls cast yvonne away, throw derrick out too, and let penelope live w the prince happily ever after. the duke and pink haired brother can visit.

All I can say is don't worry, Derrick will never have a chance in their lifetime to be close to Penelope as her brother. He ain't gonna get the dirty ending he fantasizes nor the peaceful family ending.
Also, Yvonne my girl is a victim. She deserves to get her happy ending too if given the chance to reincarnate. That b*tch Leila (or Laila) should be the one receiving the hate. Her soul fragments were shattered into pieces I believe and the current Penelope, the previous "evil Penelope" and the modern world past life black haired version of Penelope are all Penelope! Just different realities if you get what I mean but are all from the same soul since it was shattered after (I forgot his name) White haired wizard turned back time again to save the world from evil Yvonne and Penelope is the only one who can save the world. Yup, you're right. However, sadly her soul wasn't shattered because of turning back the time. It shattered after countless of tragedies she repeatedly endured for everytime the world restarts or something again. Everytime Leila succeeds just like the game and bring havoc later on. Penelope's soul breaks and time gets rewind again by the ancient magician (?)(anyways it involves the white haired guy). The reason why a fragment of her soul got reincarnated to the modern world is because Penelope's soul shattered to the point that it can no longer withstand all that sh*t. Still our Penelope is the original Penelope but not our whole OG Penelope. Because only a fragment of OG Penelope survived.
