If ML knew since they were kids that MC had that ability, then he would know MC cant control it and would accidentally k!ll someone at the slightest fear or anxiety and etc. So that would mean he deliberately chose a theater with horror movie playing so that MC would accidentally do it due to his fear, and maybe ML hoping MC would remember more when that happens.
