Tbh I'm actually bored with the same pattern called pseudo character development. From asshole to a little less asshole or even more ridiculous 180 degree change of personality. It's the plot of majority of yaois.
They are not refreshing. Omega is typical spoiled asshole (breaking nose anyone? Treating alpha boy like trash?). The roles are just reversed. But in this universe omegas are basically alphas. So our omega acts like typical alpha.
And saying it's refreshing because of their positions in bed is rather shallow.
