You’re right. His parents have ALOT of making up to do, and at this point it lll be really had to make that up, all the hurt and trauma; but I think that in regards to his mom who we can tell has always felt guilty, I think this has been something that was talked about in the past. The dinner however was the PUSH, and I think that they really finally realized that this was the right thing to do, and they still have to get used to accepting Yang yang, I’m happy tho, but idk how they’ll be able to make up for all the hurt they caused him. This is step 1, now they gotta figure out the rest here.
It was not about homophobia but I went through the same, In the past my parents didn't accept something about us "I don't prefer talking exactly about it" but when we grew up by time they said they will shut up any relative who talkes about this thing because it's our life, I swear to this day we still can't believe that our parents changed their way of thinking
