Momo seriously needs to get in there, find out what happened, and give Kanoko one or two slaps with reality so she can get more confidence in herself! At this point, I don't really mind who she ends up with (except for Otabe but he's just too much of an alien lol). The president is super interesting and his rare smile is adorable, but Tsubaki's devotion and the face he makes when he's thinking about making her happy is so cute! It's like a cat (Pres) vs, a dog (Tsu)- can't help but love them both!
I just want Kanoko to love herself a little more!
I think that's the 'wall' she built up to protect herself. Besides she wouldn't have become the 'interesting' person she is today if she had more confidence ... probably would've been more arrogant (not that she isn't but... more so that its suffocating).
I think she doesn't like being the center of attention (if u r the center of a attention {I think she observed} it give u a 'higher' rank) Also I think she likes 'fights' cause it what she expects (till u add love problems), it her comfort zone.
I agree 100%. But if this is gonna go anywhere, something's gotta change now lol. We can already see her moving towards more self-confidence but she has the tendency to talk herself out of things (side character syndrome, if you will). So she needs somebody she trusts (Momo) to come in, slap her with some truth about how awesome she really is, and push her to really sit down and think!
I didn't like the first story at all. I felt sorry for Aritou-sensei who was taken advantage of (and basically blackmailed) and then made to think that he was trash for a simple physiological response (sex feels good, unless you've got some sort of physical miswiring). And so I didn't like his character- not through any fault of his own; I just hate manga characters who seem to be put in to suffer until they're "rescued" but their assailant is never actually punished.
Because I felt Aritou's pain, but didn't get to feel the sweet vindication of watching douchebag-sensei get caught by his wife and his life ruined, I felt upset whenever I thought about the first 2 chapters. I may be a bit twisted, I guess. Loved the extra, though. Since he looked like he was over it, I got over it too lol. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Dating? Seriously? She goes through hell and back and throws away her awful family, he almost dies and (tries to) throw away his awful family and the last scene shows him asking her out? (⊙…⊙ )
These kids got the order wrong; after all that, y'all need to at least get engaged or maybe some bedtime play or SOMETHING, not just some flowers and asking somebody out like a poorly planned prom invitation. I need to see more dedication than that lol.
It was cute and suitable enough for a light hearted shoujo but I just didn't feel like it justified all the crap they went through to be together so it felt a bit...anticlimactic, I guess? Especially considering how easy it is to break up with a boyfriend/girlfriend.
But I didn't feel particularly strongly about it, it just struck me as funny how HMR ends this dramatic ass story line with something so standard.
I totally agree with you. I'm not saying the ending wasn't adorable because it was. The only issue is that I felt like the ending was sort of lacking. I mean they had been through so much and he only asked her to be his girlfriend. It definitely wasn't a light hearted shoujo. I did it feel like it was a bit anitclimatic.
That's not say that I didn't like the end. I just sort of felt like it could've been slightly less...generic?
I agree. They should get married.
I think he should have either changed his words to ask her out rather than propose. I felt so hyped think he was going to give her a ring.
The ending was cute though. But I wanted more like a extra that showed them getting married. Proving they stayed together not a I think they will stay together said by the woman.
This was really heartbreakingly wonderful; a gripping look at how society criminalizes and crucifies innocent people without even meaning to, simply for not adhering to some standard. I'm no good at pretty words so I'll just say it was great, but the last 2 chapters were what really made this manga stellar.
And the thing I like the most about this author (aside from the non-fem ukes) is the fact that every chapter builds on the stories of her couples. No random one shots are necessary; she can give you a "new" feeling simply by showing the same characters in different atmospheres as they navigate through life and romance and each new story reveals something more about either their past, present, or personalities. Just a really great read!
This is really such an interesting story! It reminds me a lot of Tate no Yuusha with the whole getting called to another land as a hero and being tossed aside thing. I'll definitely have to wait until this collects more chapters and read it again!
Side note: how embarrassed is Haruka going to be when she finds out she was acting like that and never actually had powers? I do like her character but...I'm looking forward to it lol
Hayato was kind of an asshole, even with his tidy little explanation. Like someone below said, he still told Jun not to come by (knowing it was his birthday) with no reason at all. I really did prefer the ex-boss- he seemed to take Jun's feelings into consideration. I really do wonder about the future of that relationship...
For the second one, the guy's just an asshole, plain and simple. He's like one of those guys who doesn't have the balls to break up with a girl, so he acts like a dick until she breaks up with him. "Didn't want you to cry" my ass! He just couldn't muster up the courage to look like the bad guy (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
Originally tried to read this and was so bored I had to stop. Tried again a few years later and was still bored but...the side characters like her friend and his brother were interesting enough to keep me going.
As I read it, I liked it more and more, despite the silly drama. I guess I just accepted that miscommunication is always going to be a part of (shoujo) life lol. But I found the main couple super frustrating for 2 reasons:
1. The girl is a weak willed child who doesn't know how to voice her opinions about ANYTHING! It's to the point where I wonder how she's managed to live up to this point!
2.The guy has yet to understand that girlfriends and girl friends don't get treated the same and I'd like to see proof that he gets it now that they're back together, otherwise they're just wasting their time.
I want to like the story; I really do. And it seems to have potential but right now it's playing out too much like an eroge for me to take it! It's beyond the point of just manga ridiculousness; I really think the female caption is an exhibitionist. Why is she taking off her underwear in every chapter? Why is every new recruit a girl who has nothing to do with soccer at all? This is just painful to read!
"It'll be easy to break them up; the only problem is his feelings for her."
...then it's not easy, dumbass. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
