How do I say this? It's kinda bad lol. Not unbearable, but the story is so blasé, the characters are bland, and it feels like the plot is just trudging along. Next, I'm sure some woman from work or Yusuke's past will be after him, and the MC will cry again for no reason. And that will be resolved and I'll still feel nothing. Then, the MC will break a nail and cry. And drop a coin and cry. And then she'll cry some more because she's already crying, and I'll still be bored. -_-
I didn't care for most of the characters; I found them to be either annoying or selfish. And the plot was...just kinda odd tbh. I kept reading while hoping eventually things would start to come together but it just stayed a mess lol. The art wasn't unpleasant though and I'm sure this sort of semi-abstract type story would appeal to some.

Of course it's not really that serious, but it's just sort of an interesting plot point for the author to use I think.
I seriously had no idea she was the cousin since I skipped the author's note box to try and get to the ending (put the cart before the horse) lol. Quite a crafty little girl. I'm curious about her family, though. Were they okay letting her just live somewhere else? Assuming she's in middle school, I would've expected at least some acknowledgement lol

But I still enjoyed the ride a bit. It was super cliche, mind you, but I liked Masashi quite a bit. I was surprised it ended with 3 chapters, though, since this type of story usually gets dragged out way longer so props to the author! Um...art was cute, characters were so-so, and plot was nothing special, but it was fun. A nice intro to the yankee x normal girl shoujo story line at least.
I don't get it. Why was the guy still a dick right before she got sick? Also, why'd the mangaka draw her losing the weight if the guy clearly liked her chubby anyway? Seems like a waste of a final page.
How I see it, due to it being a one shot the mangaka didn't have the chance to do what they wanted. I feel that our male lead is one of those boys that's shy and comes off as a dick. He liked her puffy but he also liked her. But like my comment I wrote a few months ago, the girl is losing weight through fear and not for her own self. I feel that had the creator had a chance there would have been middle ground only after she got sick from dangerous dieting.
Yeah I kinda figured that, but I guess I don't like when the author suddenly switches characters' personalities without any sort of acknowledgement lol. I do also agree that the last page had a really bad message with the whole "I will change slowly on the behalf of love" paired with her losing weight to get the guy. The thing that made the least sense to me, though, was the fact that the guy already liked her for her, so it makes even less sense to draw her skinny. Like passing on a bad message for the sake of passing on a bad message lol

Maybe it's a symptom of being a teenager, but somehow this heroine is kind of an idiot lol. And not even a "you don't know that" sort of feeling, more like...she just doesn't have any common sense? Like the whole horoscope thing- how naive do you have to be to take all that stuff to heart so easily? Every time an issue pops up, she hears one piece of advice and runs with it like it's a sign from god lol. And everyone around her has to take care of this grown toddler.
I don't even need to see her get stronger. I just want her to start thinking for herself.
talking about how much she likes Naruse and whatever. Like, what the hell were you doing before the MC came into the picture? No point trying to intimidate her now when you haven't done a single thing in 5 years. What's she planning? To scare off every girl who comes near him while she pines after him so they can both just stay single forever? Female rivals never seem to make much sense in shoujo...
Seriously, why is she acting so powerless all the damn time when she's the ruler of the entire freaking country? It's really annoying. -_- And I just can't see Zen being in love with her all of a sudden when there was no hint of that before. Seems like this author really needs to work on the development of her supporting characters. I like that the queen is growing stronger (albeit at a snail's pace), but Zen just seems to be dragged along by the plot.

Seeing all the negative comments, I just had to read at least 1 chapter (the last one) for myself. But, oddly enough, my complaint seems to be pretty different from everyone else's. Of course the story line was super bland and I could pretty much determine what had happened/would happen from the first half of chapter 9, I was way more put off by the art than the half-brained heroine.
Did the characters' faces feel off to anyone else? Little incidents like a character's hairline suddenly shifting and making he gave look awkward to oddly inhuman, out-of-place-in-a-shoujo expressions made me uncomfortable when looking at the characters lol. Granted, I'm no artist, but the inconsistency just made the work seem sloppy and the lackluster plot certainly didn't give me high hopes for this work or the author. All I have to say is, I hope this was an early work, because there is a ton of room for improvement!

I know what you mean. Every time you see the girl MC sideways, she always looks shocked, scared, or frightened. Her eyes are always so freaking wide sideways.
