The story had more than a few loose ends it never tied up but, more than anything, the MC was such an idiot that you knew he couldn't win in the end. For one thing, how can you tell someone where your spare key is? First off, if she left it in his room and told him about it, why not take it out with you and drop it at a police box? Or at the very least, why not put it right in front of your apartment, if you're so sure no one nearby steals? Not to mention, after finding out she made a spare, he didn't even change his locks!!! Who knows how many spare keys she could have made?

And then he invites in the same girl who's been stalking him -whether or not he thinks she's an old classmate is irrelevant; she's clearly shown herself to be not right in the head, so why invite her into a room with just you two alone? Just stupid decision after stupid decision! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

I absolutely DETEST the heroine, especially during the Tomomori arc. She's completely useless! She always pretends to be strong but accomplishes nothing in the end and has to be rescued time and time again! And then has the nerve to blindly believe any new person she meets because she's sooooo trusting but does it by forsaking anything her loyal friends tell her.

All series she goes back and forth with everything (wtf was with the "I can't marry you" line? Wasn't Benkei the reason she went back to the past in the first place?!!! It's just so frustrating to watch other characters get injured and die because of her nonsense time and time again!

U need to shut up and go die in a pit of fire

Actually that is true. Also, Koremori deserved better. He didn't know what love was and got stuck with "liking" her.

This, my friends, is a grade A example of a toxic relationship. The only time they communicate is during a fight and the problems never seem to be resolved so much as the girl convinces herself to interpret her boyfriend's actions in the most convenient, loving way. He literally does and says whatever he wants, makes her feel like absolute garbage, and then kisses her or gives her a back hug and makes up for everything. The other 92% of the time, she's just a walking ball of insecurity and confusion.

Really, I spent every chapter from 3 on just hoping they'd break up, but I couldn't get past chapter 12. Saying he'd "call someone else" because she wouldn't let him strip her? ...uh what? That's not even okay as a joke! But, of course, he says he just did it to "test" her and she blushes, laughs, and strips. I'm so done! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

THANK YOU! Please do not make fun of me, but I had to replace the Chiaki with myself to see how the story flowed. To be honest, it made a lot more sense then. I agree with you whole-heartedly when you defined their relationship. I didn't really worry about whether they broke up or not, I just wanted the girl to reach the conclusion that there are better guys out there! Ones that don't bite with their words and try to win back your broken heart with a few words that even my brother could tell me after reading my diary. Sorry for ranting, I loved the manga, but it just didn't strike "realistic" for me, you know? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

No judgement at all! I always project myself onto the MC when reading a manga- I think that's the attraction to reading vs watching a movie. For me, the difficulty is not pushing my personality onto the character too much and learning to just enjoy the manga objectively a bit. That being said, it just didn't make sense for someone to subject herself to this sort of mistreatment over and over again for the sake of being in a relationship. So I completely understand where you're coming from, especially with the brother diary comment since a ton of his lines sound like things guys spew when they're caught doing/saying something wrong and just need some crap lines to try and make things better lol.

Not that I disliked the main story at all but all the misunderstandings were basically caused because the main guy had too much pride and not enough sense (how could you ever think lying about having a girlfriend to the girl you like will work in your favor?). And he just kept digging more and more holes for himself!

Meanwhile, the second extra was adorable and hilarious! I love the way Milay pronounced his name!

Agreed!!!! The main guy was being such an idiot!(╯°Д °)╯╧╧

The lengths he goes to to hide his "cool" self from her are just hilarious. That one scene from childhood where he hides his skateboard? It's a riot. (≧∀≦)

It also makes me wonder if this kid was a child genius or something to plan so far ahead...

I read the first chapter and almost couldn't contain myself- it was filled with so many shoujo cliches! We've got girl in love with teacher who saves her, teacher's younger brother is actually in love with her, the bullying girl group (with really minor justification even for shoujo lol), younger brother is actually the one who saves her, etc. The author must have tried so hard to fit those in it's downright hilarious (≧∀≦). The exposition was so forced it reminded me of the scene in Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun where he uses the background characters to make his main character's story in a really obvious way lol!

Despite the criticism, I don't really dislike the story- it just came off a bit too forced trying to fit so many things into a short time without really developing the characters enough to justify the plot. Good way to kill time, though

Although I wish she could live happily with her family, the bittersweet end really showed just how much her family treasured her. Rather than force her to live the rest of her life feeling inadequate or like the didn't measure up to them once she lost her powers, her family made the difficult decision of letting her live like a normal human.

I especially love the last scene with her brother when we finally got to see that he treasured Karin just as much as everyone else; so much so that he took on the role of a bullying older brother just to ensure that, if the situation called for it, she could live normally without memories of her family to drag her down. It's really such great familial love to be able to commit yourself to carrying memories of a person who won't remember you for the rest of your life, long after that person has passed away. Just so sweet! ╥﹏╥

really? I am just at the start, but her brother is getting on my nerves. And her mother too, all going about her being a failure.
Whether she is a good vampire or not shouldn't change the fact she is their daughter. I am too much at the start to really judge this manga, so when does it get any better with her family? Because up until now, they totally suck

You'll start to like the mom more towards the middle of the manga, when you see that she really cares about Karen. And you'll really like the brother in the last several chapters. But by the end, you realize they only acted heartless because they loved her so much, and were willing to become villains just to keep her safe. Brings a teat to your eyes T-T

At first the plot seemed interesting enough but I couldn't even finish it because so many issues kept popping up time after time.
1. Every other scene seemed to involve some sort of attempted rape, it seemed like every male character forced himself on her at least once.
2. The back story with the mother made absolutely no sense. If the mother wanted so much for her daughter to be happy, why did she try to force her to sleep with any guy who found a gem first without taking her daughter's feelings into consideration? (/TДT)/
3. The story was a bit muddled and the scenes jumped around quite a bit, making it tough to grasp what was actually happening.
4. And then basically all of the side characters were just convenient plot points rather than characters with actual depth!

Although there's SO much shoujo-esque drama in the series, it really does portray human emotions and interactions well, which is something this mangaka is great at (Peach Girl is just as good at this). The characters may seem ridiculous and over the top, but I think that's because they're caricatures of real people when we get caught up in our own emotions and can't see a way out. Even when their actions seemed over the top (like the sister who I hated for nearly the entire series), it was never out of nowhere; once we got to learn a bit more about each character, we could see their motivations and the mistakes that led them to act a fool.

That being said...some of these situations were just too much. Once is okay but time after time after time? I swear we couldn't get through one chapter of them just being a happy couple before some other drama popped up. But what can you do? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
