I liked Dylan and all but it’s clear he is TOO blinded by her right now. Like I’m honestly annoyed by him right now, y’all think him killing an innocent person and tearing out his entire families limbs and decapitating them, then to hang their lifeless bodies is alright just because he is handsome?

Isn't that his character design? To have unwavering faith to his tutor like one is to a god. To have an obsession to his tutor because he is sexually attracted to her. And never questioning her action and teachings. Combining that, yeah you got one blind ML there that is set to be a tyrant not a magnanimous ruler.

Yes, he didn't need to brutally torture and murder an entire family who didn't do anything wrong yet.
And even the MC became scared of this ML when he turned his scum father into immortal swordlike being. The MC/FL wanted to destroy the empire and kill the emperor but she never wanted anyone to suffer the same fate as her when she was a sword!
The glorification and romanticization of good looking cruel tyrants...
I prefer know the story of "The Untouchable Lady".

Honestly i might be one of those people( ̄∇ ̄")
I feel like characters that have disturbing traits are more fleshed out in fiction and are more realistic. I think it's more interesting to empathise with these characters rather than goody two shoes or bland ones
Buuuut that is just because i know to separate fiction from reality; I stay away from those people irl obviously

The Bad Boy Trope, Explained

I dont think hes blinded. He is actually a toxic and cruel person. He has obsession over her which is combined with respect. But i like the fact that hes not a good person. It not cliche like other stories which the main lead seem to be cruel but is actually not. He is the real thing. I dont have any idea where this toxic love will lead to but for now im enjoying reading something that is different

You re welcome.

The Age of the TV Antihero 2.0
I understand the appeal but as an adult with more growing critical thinking I am starting to question the glamourizing and romanticization of pro monarchy system, imperialism and bloody tyrants in fiction...
Take for example, Bridgerton.
That series was safe until a character said in one episode: "We were two separated society, divided by color, until a king fell in love with one us"... It caused a shitstorm.

The Liberal Escapism of Bridgerton
Idk I feel like this author has a habit of this same troupe. BJ Alex and jinx, they both start off with the mean buff top bullying and using the innocent bottom for sex for their line of work until the bottom leaves them. The top who has zero redeeming qualities who’s been a jerk shit show the entire time suddenly feels like shit and is redeemed and they have the most perfect relationship despite only having sex and no emotional heart to heart talks. Idk I liked bj Alex a lot more though cause at least the bottom was more sensible, this one really doesn’t have a back bone, honestly it almost feels like he has Stockholms syndrome.
