Just to clarify: cirrus didn't see his father within Skylar. It was his trauma reminding him how important role models or people he depended on, abandoned him. That's why he got into panic mode trying to mend the situation by saying I love you to Skylar, that he needs Skylar. Which in return panics Skylar because of his issues with people finding out about his homosexuality.
