Years later, he became more and more stubborn and developed anger issues. He was taken for therapy and even the therapist said that my parents should've just let me correct him. So I think what you're doing is OK. You're not putting him in danger or hurting him. As long as you're gentle with him and he's not left alone, it's ok.
