Yes, there's rape. But it's not glorified at all. It's kinda meant to reflect what it's like to be a gay victim. Our mcs cant even afford to be the victims because of the way they're ostracized after everything is revealed. It really SUCKS that this is meant as an obstacle or plot point in the story of their relationship but it's true that these circumstances happen to people and I think the author wants to draw attention to the nonsensical nature of blaming the victim (in any sense), but especially by spreading homophobic rumors, etc.
In the face of this I think everyone that's dropping it is willfully ignoring that many parts of Korean culture and society still live by these social rules. I wish they could be a happy couple in San Francisco or Southern Cali but they arent. This event is now as much a part of the story than some real couple's lives. It frustrates me too to see them have to work through these circumstances but it is part of the story. The point in the story is can the couple feel comfortable enough to come back together and communicate? Can they feel comfortable with each other after what's happened? On top of that can they withstand being ostracized for the rumors around them?
Tbh. It's a cute story because of how strong the characters are despite everything else. Please read it.
I still fking hate Rou. Like he's tolerable because my bby Yoshino loves him or whatnot. But if he liked Yoshino from the beginning then it makes the rest of it all the more frustrating. If he knew Yoshino was that kind and empathetic and that he always put other people's needs before his own why did he still act like a selfish BRAT?!

SO Dowun ship, right: he approaches her with power in mind and wants a political marriage but slowly comes to realize that hes falling for her HOWEVER like the lil dum btch he is he smashes down those feelings, or tries to, by treating her like shit. Toxic. Low and behold she still might have feelings for him (which are obvs running thin) and I guess there might be a way to come back from it if they had like therapy and marriage counselors back in the day and dowun stops acting like a btch BUT enter bodyguard to soothe our hearts and twist Dowun's twisted heart into realizing he cant come back from all the shit he's done. I was literally going crazy when the comments section were calling her a btch for abandoning Dowun when it was obvious that her pining for him twisted her heart into being a cold hearted btch (though shes actually just tired of the mask Dowun has made her wear over the past years). If you havent noticed I ship the bodyguard from ch. 1 and was being open to the dowun ship but it never felt right.
Finally someone with the same opinion. Actually I didn't think he fall for her at all but maybe he felt that she is becoming harder for him to control so he became irritated.
