it's toxic for the long run , it's only the beginning and it's bad , i really don't mind age gaps bit in this situation i u need to look at the big picture ....the old guy don't want to make it public and he is not that strong of character to face shit when it's bad ,and the young guy is sacrificing a lot for his lover and he don't even trust hi ....(ps: i am not that good in English i don't think i explained my self good )

in my defense it's toxic for me cuz the relationship has no future , and hurting both characters ,in a country that homosexual is a taboo add that to the age difference and the fact that the old guy don't look like he want a long term relationship (don't want to go public or tell the parents) and he is not that strong of person .... i don't see how the young guy will make it work and he will be the only one losing

But I still think it's dysfunctional rather than toxic.I guess it's just a matter of opinion.
The older guy is right not to come out now imo, they haven't been dating for long and it would probably ruin their reputation. The young one needs to graduate first before they can think of saying anything, unless they're ready to take that huge risk.
Granted, the older guy has said nothing about his plan for the future so he might consider being in the closet forever but we don't know that for sure, right now he's only being cautious even if it sucks for the two of them.
