Seme is very optimistic, hoping they can be happy forgetting the bloody past. But even though it wasn’t personal, even though he was just following orders, Seme still killed MC’s parents. This actions lead to MC having a really tragic life, becoming a slave, having to sell his body, losing his brother to sickness, almost su1ciding. I can’t see the happy future ML desperately wants for them. MC can’t forget what he lost and what he went through. The closest thing to forgiveness I can think about going on this story is MC going away to build a life on his own somewhere.
But if the author chooses the cliche route, they’ll make something like MC almost killing ML, ML almost dying and then MC regrets everything, ML lives after all, they forgive each other and get together. But that seems very simplistic and cheap.
About they getting together only in their second life, I also think it’s quite the plausible theory, and to me it seems to make more sense that Yeonjoo living happily ever after with the man who killed his family.
Honestly f*ck the female lead. I don’t care if she’s hot. She did unforgivable stuff. What she did to MC’s ex was so evil, the girl cared about MC so much and had the worst ending possible! Turned into a puppet and forced to hurt the one she loves! They could have been so happy together, but female lead ruined them. Honestly I hope MC finds a way to make that psycho scientist a brain dead puppet, now that would be poetic justice.

And it’s paradoxical too because he was obsessed with Nagare for his defiance, but would lose interest if he submitted. I guess no matter the way Okaya would keep bullying him. But Okaya definitely behaves as a psychopath who has lost his main obsession, with the way Nagare is his landmine and the way he completely changes when everything related to him is brought up. Also how he “didn’t have much fun” as his friend noted after Nagare died.
