i was a bit curious since i havent gotten an update in so long but it seems like it's gone from mangago completely. or maybe i'm overlooking it (i hope this is the case)

ryu November 12, 2020 5:36 pm

how do you search up lists?

ryu November 12, 2020 2:47 pm

i've already asked this before but i ended up bingereading and finishing all of them and i crave moree

i want some good shounen manga reccs, preferrably supernatural(?). i don't want mangas that already have lengthy anime adaptations such as fma or blue exorcist because i feel like im gonna expect something more.

if you want to add some seinen i dont mind

i've already read: (excluding the mangas with anime adaptations)
• jigokuraku
• tokyo revengers
• to you, the immortal (cant tell if this is shounen)
• jujutsu kaisen
• chainsaw man
• kemoni jihen
• ajin (a seinen)

looking for some cute shoujo fluffs... the length doesn't matter! i don't really like the shoujo mangas that i've seen that insinuate the couple having sex when they're literally underraged and they're horny af. i hate that.

i really like slow burn fluffs tho. thank you (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

ryu November 9, 2020 6:04 am

any reccs for mangas similar to chainsaw man and jujutsu kaisen? like those shounen monster-hunting mangas with a bunch of action but also emotional moments? or any reccs for mangas similar to blue lock and haikyuu? emotional shounen sports always get me ╥﹏╥

tbh im just looking for really good shounen mangas (idc if its popular or underrated- i need some good art and good storytelling!)

does anyone have some tips on world building (in a fantasy-royalty(?) setting) in a story? or any reccs of manga or webtoon with good world building?ヾ(☆▽☆)

i really really enjoy the manga blue block, and i hope others do too! i really enjoy the fact that the main character isn't overwhelmingly powerful at the beginning and doesn't have any unique traits (that sports anime mcs usually have).

he's ordinary. and over the course of the manga, he begins to become unique and finally shine, and in the latest chapters, he's rlly grown so much to the point people in the comment section were rooting for him so passionately.

i like slow and realistic development of the mcs, and this manga really showed that well. he's realistic, and even though he has a cool trait of spatial awareness (forgot what it's called), someone else has it too and he has to compete to be unique. it's really good, i definitely recommend for anyone interested in those kinds of things

(the art is amazing too, and there's no dislikeable character)(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

does anyone know when the fl is going to become an adult in lady baby? because it's been a 100 chapters and she's still a child. the chapters are just a jumble of political information and the fl scolding someone because of manners or some shit like that (from what i've read. i stopped reading at around chapter 80 because it got boring).

since she's still a child at 100 chapters... i wonder how long this webtoon will actually be..

    Pandix October 17, 2020 5:37 am

Yeah but you have to consider that like everyone near her dies when she’s like 15 so I guess idk

    icy October 17, 2020 5:44 am

hey! i don't really know when they will became adults however i read the recent update of it where there was a timeskip and the mc is currently 12 years old. still a child but i think this is the time that the drama will come.

can anyone relate to me? i feel like i'm the only one having a bit of issues with reincarnation/transmigration webtoons lately...

they're all essentially the same thing. the fl tries to escape death, had some sort of shitty past life before she got transmigrated, and falls in love inevitably with the crown prince who is rude and not favorable (imo). and the fl has this reverse harem but she's dense so she doesn't know shit unless it's about politics.

like come on, i kind of want a relatable mc and a more unique plot. ofc the art is always stunning, so there's no complaints there. but sometimes the plot is so unordinary that even the characters become unlikeable.

just me?

    NahThanks October 17, 2020 5:28 am

I never read that manhwa. It's so cliche and boring, but it's just my opinion don't @me

Yo dawg this one is aight and it made me a simp for the fl. Pauliana Winter is the woman who I will always simp for, but this fl really takes the cake.

yeah, at first i loved the concept, but it got too repetitive... i stopped reading the vast majority of them

    nana October 17, 2020 6:16 am

I actually like how repetitive it is sometimes. Beautiful art + much needed revenge makes me so happy no matter how many times I see it. & there are some unique storylines if you look but when they blow up, they are copied, so they aren't unique anymore ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Beware of the Villainess is one of the good ones! there's a rare few out there who break these tropes, and I appreciate them. I love that webtoon sm

Yes... I understand a lot. I have more than a 100 of those webtoons I'm reading currently, and there ARE a few rare gems that are beautiful (especially the first few I've read) with a good plot, but yea when it blows up and then the plot gets copied, it becomes unoriginal :(

ryu1560 October 4, 2020 7:50 pm

i thoroughly enjoy villainess transmigration webtoons and stories, but i always have several problems that seem to be a consistent pattern with these. i want to hear opinions on them as well

1. the true "heroine" is bland
- i've seen webtoons where the "heroine" (not the protagonist we are following but the heroine of the story that the protag has transmigrated into) is so bland and borish. they all have flat personalities and brown or black hair. i get it's to make the protagonist shine more, but can't we have a little changeup?
- i've also seen webtoons where the "heroine" is supposedly an evil mastermind who wants to bring doom to the villainess/protagonist, but it's so cliché in a way. it's not interesting. oh, it's a jealous girl who wants the male lead to herself. what's new?

2. there's no development on the villainess before being transmigrated
- it's not a big issue because the life led before becoming the villainess isn't the main focus of the story, but i want some background information, not random flashbacks that the readers can't relate to or feel sympathy for in the middle of the story
- or the villainess just has some... weird backstory about being an overworked office worker?? like why not something else? it's always an office worker lol
- i'm not saying there's no character development. i'm just saying we have little to no information about their previous life. they apparently don't have friends or family they don't want to go back to. (which is sooo awfully convenient) if you want to add those random flashbacks, at least make it tug at the heartstrings more

3. the transmigrated villainess is too perfect
- even if you are transmigrated into a villainess and still retain her memories in your new life, shouldn't you be making mistakes? get confused? be just a little.. i don't know..... CONCERNED? of course this doesn't apply to all, but among the more popular ones
- why are the villainesses so smart? of course, you need to be able to be smart to stay alive. but the instant they get transmigrated they come up with some a foolproof intelligent plan to survive when they were a simple office worker in their past life. like what the hell? shouldn't they be a little relatable?
- of course being too dumb is obviously annoying. but i wish the villainesses had some flaws. yes, i know they do, but most of their flaws seem to be that they are either dense as fuck or have a lot of people hate them because they are the villainess
- and does anyone... ANYONE.... realize they have no wifi? LOL- okay i understand this is a little random. but isn't it more realistic to be devastated over not having wifi or your phone in a medieval European setting (with possibly magic) where there's intense hierarchy and severe gender inequality and bad hygiene issues and war? like wow, that is totally normal when you came from a modern society!

that's kind if if. i may be forgetting some things though. but still!! it's a little frustrating to see these. however, it's not that big of a problem for me to drop a webtoon. it's just something i've seen a lot and am genuienly curious as to why that is

    ryu1560 October 4, 2020 8:20 pm

oh i want to add some things!

    - the villainess always has long wavy/curly red or blonde hair. it's not a big problem but it just makes them seem really flat. of course, that type of long hair is really pretty and appealing, but it just makes all of the webtoon villainesses i've ever seen the same.
    - why do the male leads have little character development? usually they are either just the cold tyrant or prince. i know they break out of their shell later because they were hated by everyone or their father didn't want them to be the heir or some other familial issues and then they warm up to the girl, but...... uh...... i kind of want a changeup? it's always just:
"gosh that guy is so mean! i will never like him!" and then like a week later the protag is all over him bc he showed a tiny bit of affection. of course, a lot of people like those cold personalities. it's not wrong. but i've seen so much of it that i also kind of want to see a realistic male lead who has more dialogue than "..." "*glares*" "*tsundere things*"
(i also want to mention how they all have black or white hair. not necessarily a problem. just something i've noticed)

    - sometimes the villainesses act more like the heroine than the actual heroine, which i find funny (though i've been finding more merciless(?) villainesses nowadays)
    - i want to keep emphasizing how the villainesses are normalized with death and murder and war
    - i also want to emphasize how the villainesses don't have a family or friend they miss. and they feel it's normal to pretend to be someones daughter when they're not (i dont find many protagonists who are worried over the fact they're acting as someones daughter)
    - they also dont want to get home (but usually it's because they had a shitty life of being an office worker and died somehow, but it's better than dying in a european medieval setting, right?)
    - i think it would be SUPER interesting to see an actual "villainess" so to speak to be transmigrated into one. i wonder how that would play out but that's just wishful thinking because it would just end up with the readers hating the protagonist lol

i have many things i want to see in webtoons, but it's just me having too high expectations for a romance webtoon. but the webtoons right now are fantastic!
