Morally a 16 year old is old enough to know what they want and who they want to be with. if a government deems that a 16 year old is old enough to think for themselves, fall in love and date an older person, they’d allow it (they actually recently raised the age of consent from 13 to 1). And they do. in America, it is far more common for a minor to date an adult. Tyga and Kylie Jenner for example. Suji knows very well what she is doing and that she is in love with the MC. You can literally search up on TikTok and see comments about how tyga and Kylie dating was weird especially the rumors of her being with him as a 17yr old,16-17yr olds are not mature enough and dating a 20yr old or anyone older than that is like a power imbalance it’s morally weird and wrong samething as adults calling their parents age gap weird and wrong. You’re stating examples without realizing that a bunch of people frown upon those exact same examples you’re giving, super seniors are weird and frown upon by a lot of people, a 15yr old should not be dating an 18yr old nor a 19yr old, it’s like you’re giving the excuse for older men 20 and up to sexualize or think sexually of a child 15-17 simply cuz “oh the age consent is 16-17 soo” or even a woman who likes kpop drooling at the thought of a young kpop idol while she’s 20 or older. For one, 17 year old have the mental capacity to get a job, graduate high school, lose their virginity, get boyfriends, and go to college to then choose a major that will set up their future career. And a 3 year age gap between 16 to 17 would be 18 to 19, not 20 to 21, that would be 17 to 18. I dont think anyone should date anyone over a 3 year gap. 50% of Americans say they’d date someone 1 to 5 years older than them and many americans do. Suji knows she is into the MC, actively keeps other girls away from him and hides him from her brother, shes old enough to be jealous, in love and protective of the guy she likes at 17. She is under the impression that he is 15 to 16 while she is 17 to 18. Either way it goes, she knows their age gap is 2to 3 years. I doubt if she actually found out he was 20, she’d care and she’d still pursue him.
I think Lize doesnt have the ability to love. She grew up being abused by the Sinclair twins when she was suddenly accepted into the Rudwick family and showered with love and attention from every angle. I don’t think she truly loves any of them. She thrives as light in darkness, since Edith isn’t her darkness like in the original plot she cannot thrive as the light. She doesn’t love Cliff nor does she truly love Killian. In the original story she chose Cliff over Killian because she still had both options and Cliff as an option would give her power and control as a Duchess rather than starting over with Killian on his territory. Now that Killian is no longer an option for her she feels a sense of loss that she has less attention on her than she had before Edith came along. It also shows when she is surprised that Catherine was teaching Edith to ride a horse and when Catherine invited her to a party. She knows she is losing attention from Catherine and its making her feel dark rather than her seemingly forever bright. She has thrived on being the light to Edith and the others dark but since Edith is now a growing light, all she can be is Dark.
