I don't like the stepmom already her daughters aren't ugly at all. I guess since their noses are a tiny bit bigger than hers they're monsters.
honestly, as the story progresses, you can tell she really loves her daughters to no end. I feel like the author/artist wanted to emphasise how plain/possibly unattractive they looked to others and they had the mom be practical and aware of that in the context of the society they're in and what their prospects for marriage would be like.
You clearly haven't read this story properly/maybe just stop before you understand her.
She is not saying her girls are ugly, but she is looking at them objectively. You cannot deny that there are people who are effortlessly stunning, that them simply being there is enough to make them the center of attention. Mildred (the mom), the baron, and ashley were the examples of those people. Whereas, there are people that are more "plain" and needs more effort to show themselves off to gain people's attention. These are the sisters, her daughter. Hence why she said its "unfair".
The mother just handled and viewed things realistically because she understood other people's views and wants the best for her daughters. She thinks that her daughter must get the best men to be their future suitors. That's why she tried her best to taught them manners, how to walk and how to behave themsleves, also how to dress themselves.
Modern "everyone is beautiful!!" Is not what was needed for them to live well in this era. And come on, be truthfull, even in modern world, appearance matters.
The point is not how she looks in your eyes, but what she looks like IN THE STORY. She is told and described as BEAUTIFUL. If you say she is plain, it may be because if the art of the artist, or maybe the design is not up to your taste. But the point of the STORY if you actually read the 9 chapter u said, she is told to be BEAUTIFUL.
YES her daughter look normal and as this story progress, thanks to the mother having ideas on their dresses and her education of etiquette and attitude for the girls, they are highly praised and they are seen as beautiful too.
I agree with the comment above me, she's a10 mother and I would love to have someline like her as my second mother or maybe a friend. She looks very fun to be with.
The boys surrounding the second saintess are the problem. They know their customs and how it would look to other people. The prince isolated her she really only had them so she stuck with them. The see their fiances (break up with them they knew what they were doing) hanging around her laughing and being buddy buddy. I also liked the way the anime showed her backstory. We got to see her interactions with her mom/dad they really loved her I'm sure they're devastated.
Actually the whole fiasco is more explained in the anime or maybe the novel. He already knew about sei but did all that so that people won't antagonise the second saint. She would be seen as a victim instead
No he only made that plan up after Sei started showing her powers and everyone was calling her the real saintess. That was not his plan the whole time the boys were the problem.
Agree on this! He just simply justify his wrong decision by doing that. He was not aware AT ALL until Sei was praised as a saint. And what I don't like about them is that even though they are aware that they did her wrong, they didn't bother to apologize. Brats.
i could not stand them
The issue is both the boys, the Prince and even Aira herself. The boys for reason you said above, the Prince for enabling the situation despite in full knowledge that the boys action put Aira in a bad spot merely because he believes Aira being a saint deserve protections, admiration of others,... Plus his actions is based on the assumption that whatever bad rumors Aira gets everything will be forgiven and ignorable since he believe everyone should be grateful to Aira because she will save the country. Aira because she knew both what Kyle and the guys were doing put her in a bad situation but decided to not take action in fear of losing her privelege and being abbandoned if she said something that went against the Prince. She could have many occasion to say the Prince "hey maybe they aren't bad~" but decided not to. This her passiveness and decision to go with the flow despite having the opportunity to do it is also a fault and cause of the situation. (example she knows she's stuck in a low level bc the Prince had her go to low level forest... ) and mind you, soldiers were dyng on the other side. Thus she also lack the resolve to be technically a saint since despite several promises she put her situation before others and enabling a situation that just is civedo productive to her promise to work for the betterment of the kingdom. The guys acted in response to the Prince actions if they aren't being told off by him why should they stop?
i dont blame aira shes a kid that was kidnapped to a different world to fight monsters. Scared, lonely and feeling the pressure of saintess responsibility shes going to cling to the first person to show her kindness. Shes out of her element literally and I don't see her fearing losing her privileges as not taking action.
Of course no is blaming her nv she is a kid. But the matter facts is that she did allowed the situation to continue. Plus Just because she's a kid. Doesn't mean she's assolved and has no no faults for current situation. Facts are facts they don't have feelings and don't care if she's a kid or not. Reason why the situation came to that conclusion. (the prince managed to have his shitty way) a cause and effect. Also she definitely fear losing her privelege a of being taken care because she doesn't want to get kicked out. Both started in the anime/manga, novel and spinoff.
Anyways OBJECTIVELY speaking her prioritizing herself lead and decision to be passive, knowing the consequences contributed to make the Prince get his way (isolating her), boys not backing the hell...
