Also, using others/mc's presence to get Elf's favor just means that she's manipulative. She doesn't want to help the mc, she wants to be favored. Her intentions are impure.
Also, base on experience, these characters tend to be really annoying and would tend to push their own ideals onto the mc, whine, pushy, be a dead weight, weak, have weird logic etc etc.
