Things are starting to make sense, and I may be wrong but this is how I think the story played out.
So we have dark Claude, who is Claude’s brother. In order to rule, he had to get rid of Athy and the king, which was easy in the original story because of Jeanette’s perfect placement. I think the reason why Athy died originally is because the person who killed her wasn't Claude, it was really his brother. Meaning he killed Claude too. I think part of the story that we don’t see is that Jeanette doesn’t have a happy ending, either. She is only a pawn.
Obviously, though, there was a change of plans when the story was altered. Now that he’s forming a relationship with Jeanette, his motives might change. Just a possibility.
Also, I see a lot of people commenting on Jeanette’s personality, but I think it’s pretty obvious from the beginning that she’s a selfish person. She cares so much about her “real family” and yet allows Athy to be executed. Not cute.
I hate Jenna I hate seeing her stupid face all the time and yes she's selfish as hell because she's one of the few people that know that the emperor is sick and that he's acting weird to his daughter and she comes home so happy that she was talking to the emperor and doesn't she consider that the kid that loves her father can't even to him is sitting right there! bc she's only thinking of herself oh it's her sister and her father! uh I hate her face
Yeah and for all she talks about sisters she doesn't seem to really care that her so-called sister is in so much pain from not being able to talk to her father she just worries about whether she's accepted or not. she is so selfish I can't stand her face I can't stand her whole poor me, I'm so innocent Act I like I'm so easy to manipulate act. even when she was younger she just cared about herself whether the the the the kid that she was living with would play with her. It was all about her and I get that she wasn't loved and she was neglected a little bit but so was the main main character she was neglected a whole lot until recently liked get over yourself man
A while back, I believe Athy had a dream about the aftermath of the original story, and in it Claude was suffering terribly with Jeanette by his side. He finally collapsed and “dark Claude” came and took Jeanette away. So yes... it would seem he’s using Jeanette to kill Claude with magic.
Let’s just hope Lucas can get to bottom of this.
