
was iffy to read this cuz it follows that odd trope of white women and dark skin 'exotic' male and the added horror of slavery,
but i was surprised that the story is actually really interesting also it's rare to see a wheelchair user in this setting, im praying it doesn't romanticize the slavery thing

I thought the dad having no remorse or feelings towards his daughter was odd but to write it off as "he just saw her eyes and assumed she didn't want a dad" makes him seem insanely stupid as a character,
with the way things are going I'm assuming he's going to be doing a 180 and act like a 'dad' now but I can't think of a way for the author to write this where it doesn't come off as pathetic of him
fl is so cunning and sharp, I love stories where the female lead is the one leading the charge against political affairs, especially when it's done behind the scenes and a false facade.
