Is he a saint that is supposed to be by her side 24/7 because she can't do anything by herself and forced him into a political marriage? She has never reached out to him and from the beginning he didn't have any obligations to reach out to her. Her narrative is biased and flawed. Like he said, "You don't know anything about me too". For heavens sake, the only thing she knew about him in the past life was that he is a duke and she liked him enough to trap him in a marriage cause he told her to live her own life. She never knew him beyond that. Everything else is just pure speculation on her part...the world is not filled with 100% who can understand your whole life story or even read how you are feeling from your facial expressions and how you act. Nor is everyone patient and kind enough to drop their whole life and take their time to understand you. If she expected that, she shouldn't have married him.

Well the protagonist is 100% correct in these types of stories anyways. I'm done with the story. The protagonist is not to my liking. Her character design is annoying in a subtle way. The male lead lacks personality so far. Elle is cute but he can't talk and his scenes are limited. I'm out now. Best wishes to the people who like and will continue

hmm,, i dont understand why everyone hates the ml when even during the “original story” he didn’t do anything wrong to her? at most he avoided her bc of cayena’s obsessive tendencies (along with other women) to the point that cayena thought he had mysophobia.

well the part where he likes when she’s wearing modest dresses does throw me off though so...

The misunderstanding is immediately cleared in this arc bcos they confessed to each other and make love after Rose(the villainess) pushed FL out of the cruise ship (new business of ML and Rose) and the ML saved her. The next arc is about the stalker of the heroine and in order to push him away the FL planned to hook up Wright and heroine but in the end the ML and heroine became fake lovers (sounds crazy ikr) soooooo fast forward the in the ball the stalker wants the ML to prove his love for the heroine so he holds the heroine close and was about to kiss her. All this time the FL is watching this unfolding and she became scared bcos it's part of the novel so she proposed to the Duke and the duke agrees( what's crazy bout this is the duke knew the stalker isn't that dangerous but he just wanted to corner the FL in the corner and he didn't expect the proposal but nonetheless he's batshit happy). The next arc is about the FL trying to build a business using the ointment of heroine's family while preparing their wedding which which ultimately failed big time and the ML is going to the war so they're supposed to move the wedding but the FL insisted them to be wed and they got married just the two of them in the church.

You know, I find this comment section quite interesting. It is proof that the point of view which the story is told, really does matter. I recall reading a novel, it has now tuned into a manwha. I forgot the name of it, but the main character was a villainess. She fell into debauchery, and would kill innocent people whenever she was angry. She was then killed by one of her knights, because he knew that if she were to reign any longer, the empire would definitely collapse. Yet, the readers, sided with the villainess. They blamed her surroundings for the way she turned out, and called out her followers for not being so “loyal” since they were not putting in an effort to find out why she became like that. (This is what the readers felt.) They felt that she was wronged, and her surroundings were to blame, but not herself. Her surroundings. Disregarding the innocents she killed. Not mentioning it. Not batting an eye. When she began to change after reincarnation, the readers were getting even angrier that her followers were still suspecting her. Saying such things like “It is obvious that she has changed, so why are they like that.” Nobody would say such things as “Well, she’s still a bitch for what she did in her past life. She does not deserve a second chance.”, “She is irredeemable trash.”

However in this, manwha, it is in the point of view of one of the victims to the emporor’s cruelty. This victim was innocent, and she had no knowledge of why her family was killed, so she grew to hate the emperor. The readers here, at least a good amount of readers here, also despise the emperor. Despite their ignorance, they think he is a horrible person, who does not really deserve much of a second chance, even though he is not going to grow to be the same monster he was previously, even though he is showing obvious signs that he will not turn out the same, they still despise him. “Well he killed her family, so he is irredeemable trash.” Not batting an eye to think of the reasons why he did what he did. They are blaming him, rather than his surroundings, for his actions. Even though they are completely unaware of why he did it, they jump to the conclusion that it truly was for no reason even though I doubt that’s the truth. The emperor killed most of the imperial family that had wronged him, killed many nobles, killed his wife on the night of their wedding, and killed the female lead’s “innocent” family. How can we say that her family did absolutely no wrong, when we don’t know his side of the story? Perspective. It really changes things.

When the story of the ex-villainess who was no longer a ruthless monster, was told from her point of view: She was pitied and her surroundings were blamed for her behavior by the readers.

When the story of a victim of the emperor’s cruelty is told from their point of view, rather than the emperor: She is pitied. Rather than the emperor’s surroundings being blamed, he himself is blamed despite not having knowledge of everything. Even though he was no longer going to become a monster, he is still blamed.

It amazes me how point of view can change everything.

I read a spoilers that says..

she truly is the real daughter of the duke..
the reason why he can't remember about her and about the mother has something to do with his holy sword..

there are two holy swords, first is the duke sword that has the power that deals with time, and the other is the swords that handles memories..

in the FL past she died in that cabin, but the duke save her by rewinding the time before she was brought to the counts possession.. however the duke exhausted his powers, and in exchange for that, all memories precious to him will be lost, thats why he forgot about his the daughter and the woman she loves.. that's why he doesn't remember saving her in the past, rewinding time, or even the woman he loves in the present timeline..

and the FL will later acquire the sword that deals with memories but she wont be able to return her father's erased memories..

however the duke remember a silhouette of a woman whom he thinks is the mother and the one he loves.. he doesn't remember but he feels deep in his heart..

in the end they visited the mother's grave..

I finished reading the novel about a week ago. It was one of the best novels I have ever read! Believe me when I say I SCREAMED when I found out that there was a manga! I am so glad!!! I have read plenty of novels and most of them haven't been turned into manga but I am literally QUAKING!!!! The plot line is so good and I love all the male leads (except for one... Don't wanna spoil anything). The art portrays the story perfectly! Trust me, stick with this manga until the end!!! It is really good!!!

- Emperor has a servant girl named Tory who he killed later after he married her in the future (Said to be on the wedding night, I’m not sure)
- FL’s father disapproves of the killing of the Empress and tries to talk to the Emperor
- according to FL, father receives ML’s hatred and family is eventually killed by a guillotine
- FL is the last to be killed and had to watch her younger brother die before her
- pleads ML to kill her first but ML is apathetic
- FL is sad for Tory but wants to help her become Empress in order to use her(?)
- FL helps Tory during her birthday party since all the other nobles make fun of Tory
- FL learns that ML has been aware of her ever since she was little and had been interested in Bellua
- ML seems to admire(?) Bellua?
- FL decides to run away in order to become ML’s servant so she can get closer to Tory and convince the ML that she is useful
- becomes poison tester / maid
- FL becomes ML servant and stops sending letters to parents
- hates the fact that ML is acting human
- “How laughable to see a monster trying to act like a human”

Chapters (I only read two sry)
- hates ML
- instead of feeling sympathetic for ML’s human actions such as: caring for Tory, keeping a pet, acting ‘normal’ FL is disgusted by them since she knows the future
- 4 months pass and ML still does not trust FL
- FL tells ML that she hopes to be seen as useful enough not to be killed and does not hope to receive ML’s trust or favor
- learns that ML is terrible at piano and is shocked how the teacher praises him

Blog (I hv no confidence whether I read this correctly or not so be aware. Also I’m not sure if source itself is reliable? I think it is tho)
- FL’s brother was planning a revolt (?)
- ML’s mother fell in love with a Emperor from a different country named Claude (what’s with Korean Manhwas/novels and Claude lol) But with Claude’s help, they find that she is a daughter of a noble. The noble is greedy and sends her off as a marriage candidate to ML’s father
- ML’s mother becomes Empress but she misses Claude and with the Emperor’s abuse, she becomes broken. Also it states that the Emperor is infertile(?)
- ML’s mother teaches ML so that he can revenge her and ML believes it’s cuz his mother loves him
- ML finds out too late that his mother does not love him and according to another source, his mother becomes a puppet(?) with magic
- ML kills Emperor and finishes his mother’s revenge and becomes a tyrant


(I love how FL doesn’t start sympathizing for ML or is touched by ML’s human actions cuz I find that illogical. Anyways, I tried my best on the spoilers but I’m not 100% sure so I might be wrong )
