ok OBVIOUSLY this is not an adaptation of emily bronte's wuthering heights but for them to choose such a specific title must have some meaning, right?

can anyone who actually read the book tell me where the inspiration lies, if any? wuthering heights is one of my favorite books of all time so i just wanna manage my expectations before i get into this thinking its going to be as well written with the same themes lol

haaa....

i wonder if there's anyone else disappointed by this series? i mean, obviously, there are, but i guess i'd like to hear your reasonings and know that i wasn't the only one. people easily thumbs-down any post saying they don't fw a well-rated series so i wouldn't be surprised if this comment does as well lol

when i first read this in 2021, i really enjoyed it. however, now, reading it again and with the updates, after a year since my last read, i'm just severely disappointed. maybe it's partly cause my previous impression of it was so good that i had high expectations during my 4th reread.

firstly, it was sucked so bad how a lot of their fights was resolved through sex only. it didn't feel like a compromise but instead like the ml was just dismissing the mc's feelings and it sucks. honestly, a lot of my distaste for this manga is on the ml.

like i said, he felt so dismissive of the mc's thoughts that i didn't think he deserved being with the mc. to me, it felt like a relationship where the mc clearly loves the ml more than the ml loves the mc and not even the newer chapters made me change my mind. if anything, i just found it bizarre and annoying since my opinion of their relationship stopped me from viewing the ending to be as romantic as the author intended it to be.

we get 2 jealousy arcs but in both times, he really... didn't do anything, honestly. in the first one, it was still the mc who ended up confessing. the second time, imo he didn't even really give a fuck and was just upset over his brother and not the idea of the mc hooking up with someone else.

argh, i just did not think the ml was someone who i could cheer on. asshole characters are okay when their intentionally made that way but it seems as though the author's intent was to make him more charismatic and likeable and contrary to popular opinions, i just found him undeserving of the ending. don't even get me started on whatever bs family trauma that scene in the office was...

this comment makes it sound like i HATE this manga but i really dont. it was... okay. mid.ike a solid 2 stars and a half.

anyways that was my opinion of it :P if anyone wants to try to change my mind id like to hear it cause im kinda confused as to why i praised this so much in my initial review

Exactlyyyy and adding onto this - I also feel like the second volume also had a huge tonal shift to it as well.. I think part of the reason the first volume worked so well is the characters sense of humor but in the second volume the ml was so serious the whole time that the bickering scenes that worked so well on the first volume just came across as actual fighting in the second, and wasn't endearing at all. First volume the fights are mostly stupid and childish which is why they were funny but second volume was stuff like disagreements on their views on marriage... I think the author forgot this was supposed to be a romcom or something ( ̄∇ ̄")

This is exactly my experience with the manga. The first pass in 2022 or something was positive. My second when the first volume ended it was a 4.5/5. But after they started dating I realized I don’t like the ml. He’s a mean person who prioritizes himself and thinks ppl who think differently are stupid. It became clear that mc loved him more than he loved mc. I also don’t think he handled his brother properly. He might “love” for the mc but he doesn’t respect him, I.e. he is fond of the mc but doesn’t see him as an equal.

yeah, i think this is it. i didn't mind it so much when they weren't dating yet because well, he doesn't have the responsibility to be respectful and affectionate towards his partner but then as the series went on and we saw more of their life WHILE dating, it made all of the ml's flaws as a lover stand out when he didn't change much as an actual lover. :/

we literally see the mc change to be someone who's more compromising and has desires to do romantic things couples usually do meanwhile they have to fight and argue before the ml agrees or admits he does too like Bro give it up youre already dating why are you being so difficult still

i really wanted to like this so, so bad and even bought the first volume before reading but i just... didn't. it's not bad by any means. tamon has adorable moments but it was just... really mediocre. i wasn't charmed by the characters and the story isn't all too interesting for me. maybe it's cause i had such high expectations for it. though, i can see why people love this, it just isn't for me i guess

before reading, know that the only appeal of this series for me was wondering how the ending will go so if you want to keep reading this series, it's better not to read any spoilers.

i'm saying this as a warning for anyone reading in hopes things get better: it lives up to its title of this being THE bad life. don't read it if you're hoping things get good.

raymond gets gangraped multiple times by people in school and even out of school even years later. at one point, they even tried to get him to fuck jerome's horse. if you can't stand seeing abuse after abuse, skip this story.

and yes, jerome and raymond does end up together. personally, i think it's bullshit. they show jerome's backstory and how he gets abused and assaulted but that doesn't change anything for me. he's still a piece of shit and literally said they did all that to raymond cause he was unlucky ????

i love how strong raymond is as a character which is why i'll still read this (at least until the timeskip cause personally that's where things SHOULD have ended)

would you mind spoiling the ending for me? like, i know vaguely what happens but i don’t get the ending - so simon tries to kill raymond (why?) and then jerome kills simon and raymond is furious with him over that and then tells him to go away, and then while raymond is going through it, at the end, jerome comes to him and they end up together (???)

I have a question, I haven’t tried reading yet except for ep1, is this academy for high schoolers and teenagers?? Bc it’s a boarding school? But they seem like adults, and Raymond is like 20? How old are they then?

Simon tries to kill Raymund cause if he can't have him, then they should just die together. Jerome didn't actually kill Simon. Simon starts a fire at their old dorm building with him and Raymund in it to die but Jerome save him. Jerome save Raymund leaving Simon on fire and Raymund have a breakdown cause another of his boys died and saying Simon just needs someone (since the 2 already died before and only Jerome left). Honestly, Raymunds rationality fucked up from all the abuse, violence, trauma, etc. he received. Jerome and Raymund live a normal life. Feels unbelievable. (That's how I remembered)

hmmm maybe the cassette tape she's listening to ended up not being a bunch of songs but instead a record of her parents, or maybe just mom, talking? since iirc it's a tape she took from home but never listened to
