ISTG if the author makes River go back to Khaol I will be so fuCKING angry. I always suspected he would never get over his old lover and I was fucking right. Even if he does let him go after this, it doesn't change the fact that he betrayed him and River is happy with Heil now as he should be. I was so happy when I saw khaol was suffering afterward. I want his lover to move on in death bc he's obviously over life, and for khaol to continue to regret. His story is super sad but what he did to River is just not acceptable
Right river was invested in their relationship and was betrayed but Heil never stopped looking for river even if he felt he had no chance and river finally realized that Heil truly cared and that's what he needs to heal ╮(￣▽￣)╭
