I know Juheon is the one who was deceived in that situation, but I really can’t help but feel bad for our MC. He genuinely doesn’t know how to navigate relationships and probably for the first time since he’s been in one, he doesn’t understand how to mend fences in order to try and move forward. I’m just so heartbroken for him because you can tell he genuinely doesn’t know what to do. All he can be is honest and he’s probably not even spilling his guts about how he feels deep inside because he doesn’t thing it’ll matter.

Ohhhhh C’MON!!!!!!!! I was already filled with dread before I started reading this and now that’s happening.

I wish he’d listened to the advice someone else wrote down this thread before and shaved his head and shxt. He could also do with a scar. Look tough and scary or something. I should’ve known he’d have to worry about the world just being shxt. Like dealing with the trash king wasn’t enough, my poor doctor. The scene with that kid was so sweet, too. If only this turned into an adventure story where he learned to look like complete trash to survive and shxt.

… the F??? The only thing that’s good about this is how short it was. I barely read a word because I was scrolling so fast to check if all this would amount to is a r*pe story and surely enough, it was all it amounted to. Meanwhile, a prosecutor gets kidnapped at his own wedding and no one finds him? Really? None of the guests there or even the wife called the cops?? Really!? Writing a r*pe story made the author so hard they forgot about all common sense, is that it???

Wow the story really returned with a bang.

I’m puzzled as to why the FL’s family rules are to side with the imperial family rather than with the emperor’s will. There’s no way you can side with an imperial family as a whole when the empress comes from outside the imperial line and the emperor has children with other women. Divide exists as soon as that happens. Wanting to stick to legitimacy like it’s a special concoction is just foolish. I can see more clearly how that would lead to their entire clan being wiped. I love that it makes sense beyond the original ML’s obsession with the FL’s brother. And the FL’s boss asking point blank if hers and her brother’s weapons can be taken if they’re dead is suspicious AF. Can’t wait for him to try just to regret it with his entire body buried 7 feet in the ground.

Side note: Astaire’s hair placement is ridiculous. He already has only one eye, so why is his hair covering is one good eye instead of the eyepatch?! And lol, she obviously wore that gorgeous dress for him.

2. His words at the end may be harsh, but he ain’t lying. I get the feeling that this webtoon is called High Society precisely because it’s these types of people that make up the crowd of nobles she’s surrounded by. Hypocrites, self-absorbed, arrogant nobles who fancy themselves to be above it all. For me the worst of them are those who pretend to be good guys. I far prefer characters like the ML. Show me who you are so I know what I’m getting into.

3. Funny but while she looked like she didn’t mean it when she said she liked him, I actually think that she does in fact already like him romantically and this is just how she’s protecting herself.

If only the cover for this story had another ML, to give us some hope. Leaving the country to find refuge with someone as powerful as the trash king would be the only way for him to find security. At this point, I doubt he plans to leave the country without his daughter at the very least. The only real way for him to find refuge is to kill the trash king. And even then, he’s better off poisoning him or doing it in a way that allows him to survive the accusation.

Anyway, I really felt the relief that he felt when he fell to the floor after he went through the water. Like the small laugh he had, I felt that shxt deep in my gut. So far, despite the foul darkness inside the king, I’ve liked how consistent the author has been about the doctor’s emotional state and trauma. I’m hoping the ending stays consistent in that sense, rather than for us to get the usual Stockholm syndrome bit.
