This is an incredible story and pulls on my heartstrings in a really gentle (?) way (▰˘◡˘▰) I love all the characters so much and I like how it’s an adventure story told in a really calm manner! So excited to see how this unfolds

Came to read the end after watching the anime and all I can say is that this is such a profound and beautiful view on the balance of nature, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. mushishi is one of the most well written stories I’ve ever come across, allowing us to naturally expand our knowledge of the world and ginko as we read/ watch every short story, each presented similarly to folk tales. It’s really beautiful and deeply emotional despite the rather straightforward nature of the MC. Plus the anime represented the serene yet frightening and mystical world portrayed in the manga absolutely perfectly. This is just hands down an incredible piece of art, the likes of which are rare.
Is it just me or is Akira a huge green flag ???? I wish the uke was more likeable bc it feels like he didn’t deserve 2 such well meaning guys who put his feelings first ╮(￣▽￣)╭

The only shit character there tbh after reading it again is acc hiro he didn’t deserve those two.
it's a fact that everybody dont realize though. you don't have to admit it for it to be true. it's happened in every single manga/manhwa ive read. people subconsciously forget what the good looking guy does just because they're good looking and automatically roots for them even if the other guy is actually way better or just as equal. it's because tons of people on here just like handsome guys, especially playboy looking ones. barely anyone prefers the nerd or plain ones. that goes for the bottom as well.
Im not like those people who automatically falls for a guy just because he’s hot, i only support him because they were very understanding. Akira let Hiro go so he could be with moto and he supported the two of them, when i read that panel that’s how i started to like Akira. How would you know that i would like him because he’s hot? Just because you’ve seen alot of people falling for a good looking guy js because of his face doesn’t mean everyone likes him. I actually prefer those nerd/plain looking guys instead of playboys like skylar from litc, Andrew from nerd project, Yohan from sign, etc. Nerdy guys are my type irl and in manhwas/mangas/manhuas.
Skylar is still conventionally attractive. and I based my statement off the fact that despite Moto doing the exact same things Akira did - prioritizing emotional connection AND willingness to let go of his love to fully be with his lover - and MORE, in another comment you stated how you don't like Moto. It's good now that you've realized Moto isn't a much worse, and is even better, choice than Akira after rereading it but at the time you definitely had some biases and I can't think of any other reason other than Akira being the more conventionally attractive one.
I never had biases back then, the comment i made was already a year ago?? i based my comment from the fact that hiro cheated on akira with moto that’s why i said i didn't like hiro and moto. This story is kind of terrible character wise… the uke is just some no-street-smarts rule stickler who basically gets manipulated, raped and groomed by this older man who has no virtuous traits whatsoever. And the only person who stood up to the weird ass situation (the sister) is portrayed to be a brocon who is possessive and obsessive but also easy to impress??? Like the seme literally beat some people up to help her and she was like “wow this guy is so nice and protective” no he’s violent and mysterious character that you should doubt ????
