I swear to god, if his backstory is "I'm mean because I used to be poor :(" I will have a fit. I grew up on a literal mission, then moved to what could be described as a ghetto by Australian standards. Fortunately my mum was able to get us out, but I can count beyond both my hands the amount of times I'd go, "hey what happened to so and so" and it turns out that they would either be dead or in prison. There was a lot of violence and someone was getting stabbed, shot, or overdosing every other day. I went through some pretty awful stuff that doesn't need to be disclosed on mangago of all places, but guess what! I'm not a bad person! Shocker I know. But it makes my eye visibly twitch when I read stories like this and almost every time the excuses that get shit out for their bad behaviour are "my dad hit me and I was poor" like?????
