I was 10 or 11 when the anime came out and I've been following the manga ever since. Im almost 20 now. I have such conflicting feelings about this ending. I honestly expected Hiyori to get murdered at night once it was mentioned she goes jogging, but Im happy to see she's alive and thriving. It hurts my heart to know she'll grow old eventually and die though.
Maybe she can end up as a formal shinki once she finishes living a full and happy life.
