Omg this is so good, I got mixed up feelings cause he beat the crap out of nasuki, but dam this is just so mature, like when love and attraction aren’t the same thing, and even thought nasuki cheat on him, and he got super mad and gave him a bad memory, he still know that this is fuck up and see the bigger picture that for them to get back together time is needed, for feelings settle down and see if the future is possible or not...

I don’t like the emperor since the beginning, for the ML role, and since the autor is going for a more realistic approach (with I think is very interesting), she could go for independence, sucecefull vibe( I mean, it’s difficult at the time?! it is, but it’s is still a fantasy story and even if it wasn’t fantasy, in the past we have a lot of woman that surpass de whole patriarchal thing).
I don’t believe that a woman to be successful or archive her goals can’t have love or children in her life, but in her case she should have find love in a more romantic way, with a man who was equal to her, respect and embrace her power, and this character wasn’t introduce in the story(we still have the opportunity) with hurt a little bit, you see, we all fall in love, but it’s normal that not always work, she could have fall in love with the emperor and blá,blá, but she has the right to have a choice thing in the story, where she can chose to be happy as a knight and a woman, and have the emperor as a sweet memory and be always loyal to him.
What i see, is that he won’t stop to be a emperor, and he likes what he conquer and work for, with is amazing, truly, but he won’t give anything up for a love. But in the story they don’t give ms. Paul the choice to have a different future, is like she doesn’t t have a choice, cause he is the ML so they have to be together, this is bollshit!!! Why she has to give up on everything she works for cause of the emperor?! and the fact that the choice it’s not there make the story even worse because she maybe didn’t want to just be part of his harem
One of the things I most appreciate in realistic romance story’s it’s that even if the persons they fall in love is there, the caracter won’t put his own happiness, principals or goal below the love he can have cause not just romantic love can give a person happiness
And according the spoiler that I read in the comments the author just treat Ms. Paul in the end as a woman that didn’t have a choice to be free...
So Japanese people need to stoop stereotype the black people and this is the thing that bothered me the most in the story...
Therefore the line of the story is good, it isn’t the lovely dove fluffy thing that start with a rape scenario with is really mess up in my opinion, so this get a point for the story. It’s more like a self knowledge by the part of the uke, cause it’s like he has been frozen his feelings and emotions in the acidente of kou, so show the uke maturing in the story and eaji is the big part of this process cause he kind of wake this feeling in the uke and made him live again something like that I think, and the rape (eiji in the case) I don’t what to say really cause the uke didn’t consider that a rape cause he was like especting this to happen?! Lol ( he was passed out and especting this, this really don’t make sense) but im not him, it’s his feeling so ...
I quite like this, it’s a bit dark and give goosebumps in the rape( the rent boy) scene but is good...
