I dont dislike the uke because he rejected Taiga. I dislike him Kei because of his attitude towards life. The reason why a lot of us felt that the ending was rushed or smth was missing is because they never really had Kei grow. Taiga was the only doing the growing and there's a lot of loose ends not tied.

1) Kei quit his passion and continues to run away from something he loves because he burnt out. And I get it - I'm a nurse with a Masters and didn't take a single break in between all the studying whilst also working. I know burn out. I've burnt out 3 times very severely. And I'm fully aware that giving up and doing other things is perfectly OK however, the manga made it a point to highlight the difference between Kei and Taiga. Taiga throws his entire self into what he does - he has a reckless and dangerous way of pursuing his passion; meanwhile Kei gives up quickly and runs. The author started Kei off as a flawed person (same as Taiga btw) but they half-assed him so he comes across as shallow and undeserving. That's also why many people dislike him even more when he rejected Taiga. His character was already hard to like.

2) i don't know if we all read the same thing but his reasoning for rejecting seme didn't make sense? I understand that he has trust issues (once again smth I relate hard to. I've been told I'm like a porcupine), but Taiga straight up confessed to him and laid out his feelings bare. He showed him what his exes never did in the past - a long, undying unrequited love that he's continued in the same way he holds his passion for acting AND Kei also acknowledges it. And Kei makes it a point to express that that is what he wants so why did he...reject? He could've asked Taiga to wait for him cause he's not ready etc. but instead he calls Taiga a liar; the author made it seem like Taiga half-assed the confession hence why Kei was insecure.
But then he flips on that on that ship ride to the island. That's another instance where ai think the story was just rushed in the end.

Overall, Kei's decision-making doesn't make sense. Taiga is a 3D character but Kei is very 2D. They didn't explore enough with him, let him grow, nor did they connect the plot point they laid out properly. It just...was a disappointing read overall. Especially cuz I loved the art and enjoyed the first few chapters. I liked Kei at first then he just didn't grow whilst persisting in this negative Nancy mindset until the very last chapter where, the immature Kei makes a decision unlike himself and makes it seem like he grew but in reality he didn't.

Also the ending was like ?? Taiga tied up his loose ends and wants to go overseas - does them getting together mean he's halted that plan? Once again, that would've required a few more chapters to come to a conclusion about.

Yess i agree with this 100%, glad to see someone shared the same sentiment. The way uke handled seme’s feelings really upset me even as a someone who also has massive trust issues…..

Well said I agree co pletely, I think he is still gonna go overseas and they gonn keep dating, I guess the author can use kei trusting him while he is on abroad to show that kei can strust him?? İdk
