The rape was awful and completely brushed away once again as if he wasn't just violated and then victim blamed right after. And then there's the extra-marital affair that ended so trivially? Oh so the wife cheats too and it's not the first time he's done this. I feel so bad for the kid and maybe it's me projecting but having a father who is basically everyone's public toilet has ruined mine and my mother's life so I couldn't gel with it. It's also the worst that the uke didn't really feel all that guilty towards the wife or the kid, or at least it was brushed over.
Listen, I get dark topics and dark stories but the author took toxic relationships but then brushed over the resolutions without having the characters go through the motions. It was just like, "oh and everyone is all happy now"

I knew it. Toshimaru is in danger. He's planning to abandon the kid. That's what animals do when their primary mates have cubs or babies from other gene pools. They will kill off all the ones that aren't theirs due to the threat.

Yeap, in the case of lions, the reason for killing the old cubs is to put the female into heat. The female only ever goes in heat when she has no kids of her own, so when a male lion wins over another pride , his first task is to kill all the cubs from all the females within the pride. It's quite a sad scene because the females are also the breadwinners that go out to hunt and bring food back. So they not only lose the cubs, they also get knocked up, and feed the killer after all that.

So...stupid lmfao. She wants to divorce...to be single...but is in love with him and seeing him...but wants to remain single? So what? They will marry again later? Nothing about this makes sense. They could've just lived apart and remained married while they explored their feelings. So unrealistic too. You can't just divorce that easily.

Yeah but she arrived at the conclusion too soon considering she was falling in love with him. Wouldn't a normal person delay the divorce date that they agreed to originally just to test the waters? At this rate, they're going to divorce, only to get married again lol.
And look, I completely get wanting to be single as someone that cannot fathom a life not being single. It's just that she IS falling in love and she was aware it at the time of the divorce

Not really. Them getting divorce only makes them realize how they love each other and further strengthen the relationship. Frede wouldn't be bold and vocal enough to pursue Ayla, whom he despises in the beginning. And Ayla would always doubt her feelings towards Frede, whom the original Ayla is smitten with.
And another point here. Yes, Ayla might be aware that she loves Frede, like not following the script of the "story" she's in, but actually really love. But she wanted to have the life different from her past life. You see, she never really had the life she wanted for herself. All her life was all about being her husband's wife, nothing more, like an accessory to show only when needed. Now she was granted another life. A life where she can hold the reins itself and not known to be just another man's wife or possession. She wanted her own foundation, one thing she thought and knew would've freed her from that terrible fate in her past life.
And in a civilized pov, "not following terms in"/ "breaching" a written or verbal contract, no matter how huge or small it is, is and always will have a negative impact on the relationship between parties. Ugly perception, bad reputation, disappointment, anger, loss of trust, etc., you name it. Their relationship will still go to a downfall, nonetheless.
